She says at the end about her brother "He wasn't a real dragon, dragons can't be killed by fire"
So I would say it is important. But I'm not even finished with first book myself.

Good episode though. I really enjoyed seeing the champion(Bron) fight for Tyrion. That whole sequence was done very well.
Not pointing out anything specific, but having read the books, they are doing a very good job at foreshadowing things to come. There are little details that stand out with the way each actor performs their role. Some are pretty glaring, but I guess it's the show trying to guide the viewers since there are so many details and events that you're not likely to pick up on stuff like you would reading the books.
