Just watched it again streaming and most of the casting is excellent. Robert should be taller and have more of an air of a once fierce warrior but he's not that bad. Catelyn seems a bit overly worn and haggard but again not a big complaint. Jaime and Arya are exactly as I pictured them. Tyrion should have straight silver/white hair and mismatched eyes but personality wise Dinklage did a fantastic job as the Imp. The only casting that I thought was really bad was Sansa. She should be very beautiful with red-gold curls not freckled, palefaced and mannish.

I thought the casting for Cersei and Viserys was especially good. Generally though the casting was good. If you want to be critical you could say the kids look too old, except for Arya and Bran. But its not a big deal really. Although it did surprise me how much older Sansa looked compared to Arya. I haven't read the book in years but I remember thinking they weren't that far apart age wise.

they aged the kids up several yrs for television to make it more believable and more acceptable w/ today's audience, esp for some of Dany's scenes. Sansa's 13 in the show instead of 11, Arya 11 in stead of 10, Bran 10 instead of 9, Jon and Rob 17 instead of 14, etc

Though he hasn't been in a seen yet, I think little fingers was a spot on cast.

Yes, well done on the OP.

My only question being why they don't have Rickon in the Stark family tree.

Has anyone seen the Wire meets Game of Thrones image?

He is. He looks to have gotten the biggest jump in age for the show.

I just ordered books 2-4; probably not the greatest idea with finals coming up.

I would recommend putting the books aside and use them as an incentive to get papers done and through finals. If you are like me, I wouldn't get anything done while reading the books.

Just my $0.02. Good luck!

Love how the actor is playing essentially the same roll as he did as Carcetti in The Wire.
