Guess they were looking at a bad box office outcome under the original name.

It sounds dumber the new way. Call it the The Uprising or The Rise of Robin Hood. Re-titled by the Department of Redundancy Department.

While I like Andrew Garfield , he really has never been a big box office draw, not counting Spider-Man as that one sells itself

Is it a prequel to The Death of Robin Hood? That one wasn’t great.

I noticed that when they showed the trailer during the UFC fights. That’s frickin dumb as hell. It weakens the true story into some kinda Robin Hood fairy tale

Did they not look at the poor box office outcome of the other 2026 film with Robin Hood in its title?

No it's not.

It is based on the English Peasants' Revolt in 1381 that also was the inspiration for the original Robin Hood stories, but it does not have a tag line mentioning Robin Hood

Another poster noted the same advertising during UFC.

It's obviously a recent rebrand.

Then, there's this

Cool.

The film distribution company Focus Features (the distribution company releasing the film) still shows the title as “The Uprising.” And while this story inspired the legend of Robin Hood, nowhere in their description can you find that name.

I wonder if they re-cut it as well or if they just added to the title. If they’re worrying about it being more accessible to audiences then they should have done a better marketing job, I only heard about it a few days ago and it comes out in a few weeks.
