Winston Scmidt, New Girl

David Rose, Schitt's Creek

I know David is Pan, but I meant more of the metro attitude.

The answer is always Niles Crane.

Watched Season 4. episode 9 of Schitts Creek last night. Saw David do his little dance to the Tina Turner song, and decided that was probably enough for me. The show got a little better in season 2 and 3, but too in your face gay now. I can’t relate to the weird, droll relationship.

They don’t even mention being gay in the show. You appear to have an issue with the fact that there are two male characters in a relationship.

Lol you really think that show is "in your face gay"? Because a guy dances to a song? I thought the scene went long but would've if it was anyone dancing, didn't think I was going to start liking dudes or anything.

You don't have to relate to every aspect of a show, it's not like he is the primary character or something, nor is his relationship the only part of his character.

Those old Paul Lynde and Charles Nelson Reilly shows must really piss you off.

What's funny is that before New Girl, Max Greenfield played a gay dude for one season in the TV show Greek and it's jarring to see him act semi-serious.

Wow two male characters are in a happy relationship. The horror of it.

It would've been the same in a hetero relationship for me, as well. I thought it was self-indulgent garbage and the character is cringey with only one facial expression. And yes- since he is gay in real life, it seems that his agenda in the later seasons is to push it in everyone's face.
No, I don't think watching it is going to make me like dudes, I just hate that kind of stuff. When characters break into song and dance or lip-sync, it's self-indulgent BS

‘Friends’ lasted 10 seasons and all of the straight actors played straight characters. Remarkable that those actors were allowed to push their agenda in everyone’s face for so long!

See, sounds ridiculous there, too.

No, those guys were extremely talented and funny. All this guy ever does is scrunch up his face and say "okay" or "I don't understand what that means."
If his dad wasn't who he is, no one would've ever heard of him.

Dude, this is a terrible take. The brilliance of this show is that it's about a gay dude yet is never a SJW preachfest. It is the perfect example of how you can make a show/movie with gay characters without coming off as chastising the world for not being down with your agenda. This show HAS NO agenda. It's just a good show with endearing characters and some laughs thrown in. That's it.

I saw all of this as someone who loathes SJW agenda driven shows.

he is a gay dude that wrote the show....I didnt find it pushy at all. They didnt lecture the audience about being gay or gay persecution or anything like other shows they do ram it down your throat. He was gay from episode 1 so dont be shocked if he finds a partner in the series.

Agreed, it would have been very easy to make Patrick’s parents anti gay or throw in the stereotypical small town homophobic hicks and make it preachy. But they didn’t.

Besides the occasional joke, it’s just relationship like any other in this show.

I’ll take that 100x over some “homophobic sees the error of his ways” preachfest

One of the best scenes was David explaining to his female BFF (after he nailed her) that he liked men and women, using different wines as metaphors.
