Pretty weak episode for a penultimate, just set up for the finale. I am interested to see what was messing with their tent; almost seemed like it was related to the digging in the house, but I"m thinking that was just a red herring.

I liked it, but it was a pretty short episode (about 39-40 minutes of actual episode).
I like the setup of the tent attack, and also the basement digging. But there are a lot of things going on right now with questions to either be asked or answered. So based on memory, this is where we are:
- Basement digging. The Matthews household is collectively digging in the basement to try to find the source of electricity that powers the house.
- Liu household. Kenny, his mom, Jade, and a few Colony House (CH) survivors are there. Jade and the mom argue all the time, but he thinks he may have figured out how they can power the antenna. I couldn't tell, but I assume it has something to do with the electricity powering the houses...like maybe he could tap into the wiring or something?
- Colony house. Jim is there trying to set up the power source with batteries, and others are helping to build a tower to house the radio antenna to try to get a signal in/out.
- Boyd/Sara woods. They are exploring the woods around the town in hopes of finding anything useful. Sara has a panic attack/seizure, and they are attacked while camping in their tent.
- Victor. No idea where he is, but everyone seems to be looking for him. He seems to be the key to a lot of things, being that he's been there since he was a kid. But he's been MIA for over two episodes now.
- Faraway trees. These are a thing, and Victor used it to get Julie to safety after the CH attack.
- Donna. So she is losing her shite, and her people are now killing themselves (Eric). She says she'll be back to normal and put on her game face tomorrow. We shall see.
I think that's basically the main plot points currently going on.
With Boyd/Sara, it was hard to tell, but it looked like they were being dragged somewhere maybe. And the light made me think possibly aliens, but I don't think that's the route this show is gonna take. It also possibly seemed like someone/something dragged them onto a railroad track or onto a road or something (I was almost waiting for them to be run over by something). But the light seemed to come from all around them, so who knows. I also noticed Sara had on long sleeves, and the messages normally appear on her arm after her seizure (per a few episodes ago when she tried to kill Ethan).
Feels like something is about to happen to either Kenny or Kristi (the EMS chick).

Could be. They definitely were cutting back and forth between the basement/woods scenes, so it was their intention to make you think they were related I think. Who knows though. I'm interested to see what they hit in the basement hole as well. That whole things has a very high LOST vibe for me (like with the hatch and all of that).
I absolutely am loving this show, but I have a feeling next week won't answer much and I'll be annoyed. I am definitely in on this show for the long haul though.

I kind of have a different take on it. Just a theory really but the people are eating and drinking from this place and maybe that adds to the effect it has on them mentally. It’s not just mental stress but the physical attachment they have to the place because they’re literally ingesting it.

I am watching this show and am committed but it is honestly some of the worst acting I have seen on TV (streaming or otherwise) in a long time. Good actors in this series are the exception not the rule. The concept has me hooked though.

I watched the episode yesterday and now can’t even really remember what happened.

The little boy is the only one who annoys the shite out of me. The rest is not too bad.

Yeah I don’t find the acting too bad really, and I’m usually hard on acting in shows like this. There are cringey point for sure, but for the most part I think it’s fine.

Maybe I don't have too good an eye for that sort of thing, but the acting IMO seems solid enough, with Harold Perrineau (Boyd) being the highlight.

I started watch about a week ago, and I'm hooked. Can't wait for the finale.
One thing that bothered me from beginning though...In Boyd's raging rant directed at Frank, he says something to the effect of "You were supposed to nail the windows shut if you have children in the house!"
Seems like an odd rule to even have in the community. It would make far more sense and be a relatively minor task for Boyd to simply have had ALL windows in the town nailed shut (regardless of children in the residence), even doing so himself or at least verifying the work was completed. Seems like it would be pretty minor inconvenience with major protection benefit.

The hysterical tech guy was the absolute worst. His scenes made me want to change the channel
Everyone else is serviceable

Season finale is not until tonight, 8 central. If you’ve seen it already somehow, don’t spoil it

For a finale that was utter bullshite
Posted on 4/10/22 at 7:59 pm to ReedRothchild
The episodes have been available on demand way before they've been aired. The finale was definitely disappointing.

Bout to give it a shot...fingers crossed

Just finished it, didn’t hate it. I knew it was going to end in a cliffhanger, sets up two nicely.

Show sucked me in but started to drag. Last couple episodes had so much wasted time. I want answers but if there is a season 2 the pace needs to really pick up.

3 episodes in and I feel like Alice teetering on the edge of the rabbit hole.
I know its coming, the push. Every instinct is telling me to bail before I get lost.

Yeah I didn't "hate" it either. But, give me something. Any kind of answers to get me looking forward to the next season. Now, I'm wondering if we ever get answers or if it's gonna be one of those shows that just keeps stringing you along and lets you come up with your own conclusions. I didn't leave the finale feeling like I can't wait until season 2. I just left it disappointed.

Isn't the "live" airing of the episodes two episodes behind? So like on EPIX last night, I assume it was E8 that aired.
OnDemand has been carrying episodes two weeks early (i.e. prior to airing "live") all season long. That's why the thread is currently discussing the finale and not E8 (which aired last night).
