I mean he honestly looks like a school shooter. No one would follow this dude and most of them would run for the hills. Yeah, on the later point that’s who he is once realize who he is, but this was Jackson’s (right) interpretation of Sauron the deceiver before he opted (and rightly) out of doing it:

Just compare Peter Jackson and his crew, fans that know they are fans knowing they may have fricked something up, and then correcting it for the actual delivery. Viggo being a fan actually directed this scene better than Peter. You’ll never see this level of honesty from these clowns: Jackson on Sauron the Fair
