How do yall remember this? I'm 26 and I have absolutely no idea.
It sticks out to me because my dad made us swear we wouldn't tell our mom that he'd taken us to an R rated movie. Was only 7-8 at the time

Always had HBO/Cinemax growing up so I don't remember this as much of a milestone.

the first one I can remember was Not Another Teen Movie. I was like 12 at the time and my parents, who brought me, had no idea what it was about.
Needless to say, my mom made us leave about 15 minutes into it

Think we had this thread a few months ago. I think my response was the Crow.

The Rock...to this day if I see the Rock on TV, I'll stop everything I'm doing and watch it till the end.

Before there was even R, PG, etc. Went to see Bridget Bardot in And God Created Woman at a drive inn theater outside Bogalusa - first time I ever saw nudity in a regular movie (had seen a few stag films before then.)

HA! My boss and I were talking about this yesterday.
My first R-rated movie was "Risky Business".
My friends and I were dying to see it, and it wasn't until our 3rd attempt that we were successful.
Attempt #1 - Walked up to the ticket window at the Bon Marche Twin and the old bag that worked there took one look at us (we were 16), laughed, and asked for ID. We tucked our tails, mumbled something, and walked away.
Attempt #2 - Cinema 8 in Cortana Mall was split in to two sides. The left side had "Risky Business", two other R-Rated movies, and some G-Rated Disney flick, I think it was "Aristocats". So we buy tickets for the G flick, and then saunter in to RB like we're bad asses. We find a seat, settle in, and just before the lights go down the manager comes over and kicks us out of the theatre! We were pissed. Not only did we get kicked out of the movie when we thought we were in the clear, we were out of the ticket cost since he didn't let us go see anything.
Attempt #3 - We went down to the Robert E Lee theatre and the sista at the ticket booth didn't blink while selling us tickets. I still hold RB as one of my all time favorite movies.

First one in theaters was Terminator 2. First one ever was when I was about 6 or 7 and my dad and I watched Platoon. Charlie Sheen and Willam Dafoe kept saying "frick"....i looked at my dad and asked whats "frick"?

I think it was American Werewolf in Paris (1997).
My buddys dad bought us the tickets. I wsa eleven and thought it was bad ace. On second viewing like 10 years later, I came to realize its one of the worst movies ever made.

I remember that my orthodontist sat right behind me and said hello. I was scared he would tell my parents the next time I went to see him.

If I really think about it for a few hours, I could probably list every single movie I ever saw in theaters....in chronological order.
