If Tobias is in the school kitchen maybe he should have taken some of their knives instead of fretting about his homemade shank

Why on earth is this thread only 7 pages when last week was 20 pages by now?

I was at work this week when it originally aired so I couldn't offer my lively discussion to keep the thread moving this week.

I just took it as she is in shock. How do you explain something you can barely believe yourself.

Beginning of the episode I was getting bored. It does not help that we know what the heck is going on but the people in the show have no clue. Gets frustrating. By the end when the show went full riot modei was like, whoa baby this is getting good.

I think LEOs know what is going on, or have some idea and have more info. Cops are firing off head shots and there was that one cop who was stockpiling water. He knows what is about to happen.

I feel the opposite. I think it makes things interesting.

Somebody on reddit just pointed out something interesting. The first two episodes have had many camera shots that have explicitly shown/emphasized water. The very first scene of the show when nick was in the church- there was a bunch of water by his bed. When he met calvin, nick tried to drink the water at the diner table and calvin suddenly stopped him. And in today's episode, there were a bunch of scenes where it showed folks stockpiling on water. (the cop and the neighbor)

DO NOT READ AFTER THIS POST IF YOU DON'T WANT TWD SPOILERS-------

Now, this could just mean that people in the know are preparing for the hell that is about to break loose....but what if it is something deeper than that? Remember that the CDC doctor NEVER said that the disease was airborne. What if it is waterborne?

Now you're thinking.

Or what if people are stockpiling water because that is what they do when disaster strikes?

Apparently you missed the first part of my post. Even in episode one there was an interesting focus on tubs and bottles of water. The subreddit for this show is starting to go with this theory. ....

Interesting theory on the water. Im liking the feel of this show. Only thing that cracked me up was all the white people starting the riots in L.A when we all know what race is famous for starting that shite in L.A......just saying.....lol

If they are trying to hint at it being waterborne, it's the writers...

Kirkman doesn't really care about how it got spread, a cure, etc.

Any speculation on it is really just speculation if you consider Kirkman to be the know all, end all, be all on the say of what is and what isn't.

The CDC episode gave us tons of info about it, but it was a episode that was completely created by AMC.

So, what if it is waterborne?

What the hell does it matter?

Kirkman is already on record saying the virus origin story is something he is not interested in exploring.

Water, air, food, manmade, animals...........what does it matter?

The virus has been unleashed and man has been infected. How it happened doesn't change what is happening.

I take it to mean that we, the audience, know what's about to happen and they're showing the water, cell phones, Internet etc a lot to kind of show how much they take those things for granted. I remember that scene in TWD where they had water in the middle of the road and thought it was a trap, and I can totally see why they would try and hammer these images over and over again to prove that point. They even leluded to it when Tobias was getting the supplies from the school, that he didn't even have when they left. Idk if that was a continuity error or what but it's telling.

I am enjoying the show a lot. But it is a bit aggravating that they rely a fair amount on the old "don't tell the people close to you very pertinent information" device. They've done it a good bit in just two episodes and it just seems like a lazy way to try to advance the plot. I mean, that's kind of Three's Company territory.
