They are a lot better than I expected them to be. As someone who just turned 38, the mid 90s nostalgia of part one hit me like a ton of bricks. Third one gets released on Friday.

Been meaning to watch this, loved the Fear Street books as a kid. Way darker than Goosebumps, I picked up a Fear Street book once because I saw it was by R.L. Stine. Waaaay more brutal than Goosebumps, actually had kids dying horrible deaths.

The one I remember the most was a girl taking a shower in gym class, she gets locked in and the water keeps getting hotter and hotter until she boils to death. Is that in the movie?

It’s been a while but IIRC Fear Street is what you read when you got too mature for Goisebumps. Will have to check it out.

I've seen both so far, and liked them well enough. 2nd was better than the first in my opinion. Will watch the finale.

Imagine having a shite Alabama accent and 1666 puts you off

I mean, one could comment on the fact that there wasn’t an Irish accent present at the time in the area, or even comment that the current accent wouldn’t be in line with the translational “modern English” at the time, but come on dude.

The story failed on the accent, but not for the reason you’re thinking.

Great episode.

Imagine an Alabama fan who's not from the South and doesn't have a "shite Alabama accent."

In a movie about witches, the devil, and possessing people to turn them into murderers that is based on a teenage horror fiction series, I'm not really looking for historical accuracy.

However, the terrible fake accents were a distraction to an otherwise boring first half of a movie.
