What is your favorite Alfred Hitchcock film?
I'd have to say North by Northwest ,thrilling plot that jumps in from the first 2 minutes, sense of humor, iconic scenes, mistaken identity theme, Martin Landau, and finally both Cary Grant and Eva Marie are gorgeous, charismatic humans
The first time I watched Vertigo I hated it and then realized that my frustration stemmed from how the ending made me feel and now I consider it one of my all time favorites

This topic is good every few months....
1. Notorious
2. Vertigo
3. Rear Window
4. Psycho
5. North by Northwest or Rebecca or Strangers or......
But if you asked me my favorite film, Vertigo comes before Notorious on that list, so yeah.

Vertigo is my second favorite for sure.

More curious about why someone prefers a film as opposed to just listing

Vertigo is my favorite, but I had to think for a second between that one and North By Northwest.

I loved vertigo but I don't get the love for rear window. Maybe I'm missing something but for some reason he thinks the guy kills his wife just because he left late at night and he turns out to be right. Yeah the set is cool but maybe I just didn't get the story of the film.

My favorite is probably North by Northwest if I had to pick, with Psycho, Strangers on a Train, Vertigo, and The Birds all really good movies as well. Still need to see Rope sometime soon. I know I'm going to be unpopular for saying this, but I didn't like Rear Window at all though.

Jimmy Stewart is the original version of Tom Hanks. The regular guy caught in extraordinary circumstances.

I can't possibly choose between vertigo and rear window.
Personally, I celebrate the man's entire catalog. Rebecca, North by northwest, notorious, dial m, strangers on a train, Rope, the list goes on and on- he's hands down my favorite filmmaker

We had this thread a few months ago. Psycho is my favorite. A popular choice in the thread was Notorious. I've been meaning to watch it.
