Lone Ranger was a bomb, right? It's been a while...10 years or so, but I enjoyed it.

Reign of Fire was the first movie I ever pirated on Kazaa/Morpheus/Limewire/Whichever p2p program I was using in 2002.
Downloading a nearly 1GB movie back in the day was a perilous undertaking. Had to let it download pretty much all day/night and hope it didn't time out.

My favorites have been mentioned already so i'll just add another I really like.

Mostly just because Natalie Portman was so god damn hot in it.

Gross = $28'000'000ish

The random arse Tom Petty cameo always gives me a chuckle.

The marketing sucked for it. People thought it was a dumb romantic comedy about Ron Livingston and Jennifer Anniston.
The Friends fan crowd showed up and didn’t like it. And the people who would normally be into Mike Judge humor stayed home, only to finally discover it on home video.

The advertising for this movie didn't do it for me, I guess.
I thought it silly.
And then I saw it, and thought - why didn't this do better at the box office?
Even cooler when I realized when it was written.

The ad campaign was definitely the major reason it did poorly. I'm in the same boat as you and thought it looked terrible based off the trailers. I was shocked at how much I liked it once I caught it on one of the movie channels.
