Wally's being robbed overnight so Barney sets up a camera to catch the crooks, running a string to the door from the camera. Gomer-"Shazam, Captain Marvel wouldn't have thought of that Barney" Of course he opens the door and takes a picture of himself.

Such a great show. I usually watch them on saturday morning on Netflix.

How can you hate Howie Morris or The Dillards ?

Exactly. Howard Morris only appeared as Ernest T in 5 of the 249 episodes the show ran and he is one of the most memorable characters.

The Dillards, who portrayed Briscoe Darling's sons were a hell of a bluegrass band and it's a good thing because none of them had much to say as far as lines of dialogue.

Also the episode where they were having a Christmas party at the jail and Ben Weaver wanted to join in so he kept trying to get arrested and Andy kept letting him go.

Next time you watch that episode, take a good look at the turkey Aunt Bee brings to the party. That was a time long before breeders were feeding tons of hormones to their birds and the breast on that turkey was more the shape of a pyramid with the breast bone really sticking up and not like birds today with large, rounded breasts.

The episode where Andy was highly disappointed in Opie for not donating his money to charity, only to learn he was saving up to buy a coat for a girl.

The episode with Aunt Bea's homemade pickles and the episode with all the spaghetti are also classics.

Barney calling her pickles Kerosene cucumbers always cracks me up.

Yep, far too many episodes to only pick a few. Cable here in N.O. shows a lot of the Andy Griffith Show a couple times a day, often with several episodes back to back.

Matter of fact, it is on right now and the episode is the one with Luke Comstock, who Andy shot and sent to prison for robbery is going to pay Andy a visit and Barney is convinced he is out for revenge.

Yeah, Opie and Aunt Bee were having chicken for dinner-----and he was eating crow.

This is like asking someone to name their favorite child . . . just too many awesome episodes. You’d be better off asking for a top 25 ranking.

The least popular episodes in my opinion were those that had Aunt Bea as the focus. A little bit of Aunt Bea went a long way.

That was a funny line in the show with Andy trying to make a point using ratios as an example.

for me, it's definitely the three spaghetti dinners episode and the barney lip syncing episode.

also I remember liking the episode when Andy and Barney take the boys (boy scouts maybe?) camping.

Anytime Barney deputized Gomer/Goober and Floyd for one reason or another, it was always a fun time.

Gomer on the roof with that shotgun flying over the side multiple times in the same episode.

I've literally seen that episode hundreds of times and even though I know what's coming, I split my sides every time.

Absolutely one of the funniest TV moments I've ever seen. Barney getting into it and doing the Elvis hair flip at the end makes me cry laugh. Any Barney moment is classic. One of my favorites is when he's singing to Juanita on the phone and Andy sneaks up behind him and finishes the song, Don Knotts ad libbed messing up his hair and you can see Andy lose it. My dad's and mine favorite episode is the haunted house, Barney shaking in fear, Gomer falling through the wall, awesome episode. Show surprisingly had some talent too
