Unfortunately for Fox, it's their rebooted Hitman film Agent 47 that now takes that honor w/a current early score of just 5% on 22 reviews.

The first Hitman cost $24m to make and returned $100m at the BO. This one looks like it probably cost at least $35m and odds are won't break even.

Looks like somebody at Fox is going to be searching for a new job here pretty soon.

If it makes Fox feel better, Focus Features' (owned by NBCUniversal) Sinister 2 is getting slammed right now too at just 7% on 16 reviews on RT. However, the original only cost $3m to make (made $77m) which makes it likely the sequel was cheap as hell to produce too.

Trailers looked hilariously bad. I don't really trust my own judgment, lately, because I hate (most) everything.

nah, you're right about this one.

I usually like dumb action flicks and this one looks like it would be straight to DVD if it didn't have the Hitman name attached to it.

I really dont understand why Hollywood cant just straight up copy the story from the games when they do video game adaptations.

Damn near every time they have to change everything so much that the movies become incredibly generic and resemble the games in name only.

It's kind of like how it took forever for them to start respecting the source material for comic book flicks.

This movie looked so bad. The trailer looked like a parody of Hitman.

I actually like the first Hitman

I knew this would be terribly bad once I heard the line "so I'm 43 versions better than you?"

"No"

I like to pretend that Jason Stathem in Transporter was 47 in retirement. It's the only way I can cope with the shitty hitman movies.

it cost $35m to make. they are predicting around $12-$13 million opening domestically. itll make a profit worldwide. this is a really easy movie to make a little money on. it wont beat the original but it wont lose money either.

I feel like the Transporter reboot is going to take a beating, too.

Halo: Forward Unto Dawn is probably the best video game adaptation ever made and it's because the studios that made the game made the series, too.

Looks like Hitman has some competition, Sinister 2 currently sits at 6%

I used to play the Hitman video games and I loved them, but the first Hitman a few years ago was pretty bad. As much as I love Timothy Olyphant, even he couldn't save that movie. This second Hitman movie looked REALLY REALLY bad. I'm not surprised it's failing miserably. Nobody should.

those predictions were mostly made before the movie got thrashed w/reviews.

I'm betting that it underperforms from those estimates by quite a bit.

I love the Hitman games, but Jesus Christ why can't they make a good movie for the franchise. It could be so badass if done right.

weekend estimates are in and Hitman is not doing well domestically.

quote:

Hitman: Agent 47 is looking uglier for Fox, with a poor $8.2 million projected debut and higher production and marketing costs. It has a shot at doing better internationally, but will have to massively outperform its domestic numbers to recoup its outlays.

at least it has better audience reviews than F4

Cinemax played a ~two minute scene from the film between movies. It was basically an Audi commercial.

I have never understood this either.

Like that horrible Doom movie.
Why remove Hell and demons from the movie?
That's the whole fricking point.
