Ever notice so many actors from "Different Strokes" are dead?

The show isn't exactly that old. It's astonishing how many regular cast members have died:
Arnold
Kimberly
Mr Drummond (well, he was 89)
Both actresses who played Mr Drummond's wife in the later seasons
Dudley's father
The irony is that the preface of the show involved the main characters having dealt with deaths close family members (Arnold and Willis' parents dying and Mr Drummond losing his wife/Kimberly's mom)

Up to a point, yes.
But a lot of child actors die young from drugs or suicide. Gary Coleman had some congenital health issues and ended up dying as a result of that. Dana Plato was a suicide.
Todd Bridges had that terrible incident where he stabbed someone and went to jail, but isn't he doing fairly well now?

Pretty sure he allegedly shot his drug dealer.

I went back and googled because I remembered a "stab Todd Bridges" t-shirt from years ago. I had forgotten about the drug dealer he shot as well:
not charged in stabbing
not guilty in shooting
not charged in stabbing
quote:
The former actor was trying to evict Kitchen, who rented a room in Bridges' Sun Valley house, when the fight broke out, Gibbons said. Bridges armed himself with two knives and the pair battled briefly, with Bridges sustaining a slight injury before he parried the sword and stabbed Kitchen in the chest, Gibbons said.
"It appears to be more of a case of self-defense," Gibbons said.
not guilty in shooting

Bridges was accused of wounding Kenneth (Tex) Clay, a convicted Texas drug dealer, eight times on Feb. 2, 1989, at a residence in South-Central Los Angeles where drugs were sold. During the trial it was brought out that Bridges and others had been taking cocaine before the shooting, and that the actor was angry at Clay, who had stolen his BMW.

Don't forget Gordon Jump, who portrayed the lovable Bicycle Man, died in 2003 of respiratory failure.

Too lovable. That was an uncomfortable episode to even watch.

The funny part about it is that everyone thought Todd Bridges would be the first to die of an
OD or something and he's pretty much the only one left... Well him and Mrs. Garrett

Oh damn, I just realized you didn't mention the man who wrote the Dif'rent Strokes theme song: Alan Thicke.
