While it was not the greatest work of literature this Century, the mini-series on HBO told the story of my generations War in the ways I felt Band of/Pacific/etc portrayed WWII...

Not gonna lie, I never could get into Generation War. I tried but I couldn't get through the first episode.

I really liked this show, and a lot of the anecdotes were so true. There was a guy in my platoon, real disgusting fella, who made it his goal to jack it in every place we went. Every little base, outpost, the C130, and his ultimate goal was getting a chopper jack. Hopefully he never got that one.
