Thoughts?
I remember seeing this for the first time like 10-15 years ago, never heard of it at that time. Really enjoyed it. Just rewatched it for the first time since then, solid movie that definitely didn’t get any publicity when it came out from what I remember.

Highly slept on. Great movie with nice fight scenes. Pacing and plot go hand in hand

It's probably Bale’s best movie outside of The Prestige/Batman

highly slept on. i rewatched it a few years ago and it was definitely a product of the time coming off of the Matrix, but still very entertaining.
after almost typecasting in American Pshyco, a caricature of a bad guy in Shaft in 2000, Reign of Fire being a dud, and this losing 15mm 2002 dollars, it's crazy that he went on to basically release banger after banger from The Machinist on.

I think it somewhat had the same unfortuntae timing with Minority Report that Book of Life had with Coco. Movies were similar enough with one getting the hype, the other kind of got forgotten about. However, both are fantastic movies.
Somewhat same thing happened here I think. It is a really fun movie. Cool fight scenes, uniquely built world. Blends a good amount of 1984, The Giver, Gun-fu before Gun-fu was a thing, saving puppies.

Always loved this movie, though I could never understand why all the bad guys wear motorcycle helmets.
