Bruh, that’s Dylan Baker...aka Bill Maplewood, the pedo.

She is poised, graceful and appears to be a pillar of strength. Incredible.
this was my take as well. She astonishes me with her demeanor. When most victims are so obviously traumatized and maladjusted after such an event, she is charming and endearing. I am very happy she has been able to go on with her life.
To that point, I cannot imagine how she or her parents could ever trust enough again to let any of their kids out of their sight.

yes

she initially denied who she was.
she denied it for 45 minutes when the cops were questioning her and her abductors. She was scared her captors would kill her.

Watched last night. Her endurance is mind blowing. She was raped repeatedly, starved and all dignity removed. She was forced to drink liquor until she passed out and slept in her own vomit. She was forced to watch the two of those cretins having sex. Just thinking about it makes me nauseated.
I can understand her concerns about what might happen if law enforcement didn't believe who she was. I would imagine your mind is pretty screwed up at that point.
It's miraculous that she's living a grounded normal life and using her experience to help others.

Her grace and candor makes this show a must watch
Her answer to people asking, "How can you go through that and NOT have issues with men? How do you even have sex with your husband"
She smiles and says, I imagine I have sex with my husband the same way you do with your husband.."
I laughed and thought "good for you girl"

If she has no ill effects from her abduction and torture, that's wonderful. But I'd think that the vast majority of the population would be very psychologically damaged if they were kidnapped at 14, raped about a thousand times over a nine month period and fed who knows what kind of bullshite by her abductors.
I hope she's doing great and is perfectly well adjusted. It's just hard to believe that she actually is.

That was incredible. I'd wondered about it like most people, particularly because of the way she was brought up. She's apparently addressed the way the Mormans talk about sex before marriage because she first felt she was dirty and worthless and no one would want her because of the experience. That's what she'd been taught. I read something about that online somewhere.

Watched the Lifetime movie this morning. Elizabeth Smart narrated periodically. She's sounds so strong and defiant in an understated way. For a Lifetime movie, it was well done. The girl who played Elizabeth was a very good little actress. I recommend it for those who are interested. I'm sure it will replay multiple times. There was a post show, but I haven't watched that yet.
There are also some shows coming on A&E Monday night. I'm not sure if they're new.

Watched the Lifetime movie last night. They didn't focus on the investigation at all. 100% from her view as the victim.
Shocked the hell out of me the first time the real Elizabeth interrupted the movie to give her take.
Having Skeet Ulrich as the psycho kept me from throwing up.

Going through what she went through I'd expected her to have committed suicide by now not be a productive member of society with 2 kids

I was incredibly impressed by her. The wife and I couldn’t stop talking about how impressive she was.
She’s intelligent, poised, articulate, grounded, and happy.
Unbelievable she turned out so normal...and without therapy. This show was a great watch.

I've been thinking about it a lot since I saw the first show and now, the subsequent shows. She is impressive beyond words.
The first night back and she insisted on sleeping in her own bed where the kidnapping took place. No way I'd be able to do that. I'd probably want that room closed off and locked.

9 year olds believe that alittlefat man circles the globe via flying reindeer in one night in order to bring them presents. I am sure a guy with a weapon can convince them to be quiet for two hours.

For those who missed the shows, A&E is showing 3 of them tonight starting at 6 pm.

I watched the show last night. I couldn't believe how well adjusted she is now. That dude should be shanked in his a-hole every night for the rest of his life.

The Q&A was good, but way too short. I wish it had been at least two hours. However, she answers a lot of questions just by what she says in the documentaries. Maybe you can watch it on On Demand. On my On Demand, it's under "Free". Then you go to the channels A-Z and under A&E, look for "Specials". All 3 shows are under that.
