I really wish they would have told the story about the Butlerian Jihad instead of the Space witches.

That's a pretty interesting concept. He is definitely one of my favorite characters in the series atm.

I grew up in the 80s and saw the original movie. Campy but fun. Loved it as a kid. I read so many sci fi/fantasy books as a kid but never read dune. The DV movies are amazing and we’re just really well done. Still don’t have a desire to read the books

Watched the first two episodes and guess what it makes me want to read the books. My 16 year old has read them all so I picked up the first book and am reading it. So while as a book purist you might think the show sucks, it reeled me enough to want to know about the world building.

Am I watching Game of Thrones or Dune? It seriously looks like they took the wardrobe from Game of Thrones for the snow scenes

Read the books. Enjoy the show. The first book is the best. If you don't enjoy that one. Would stop there.

Haven't seen the third one yet, but is is enjoyable enough for me to keep going. Didn't read the books. I enjoyed the political intrigue and different home planets of the various houses from the DV movies. The Harkonen planet and the evolution of that house alone would be interesting. They should have focused on that and the rise of the spice guild and the navigators (the one thing DV really kind of ignored). Who knows, maybe we get that in the end.

No it’s not.
It says a lot about you that you think it is.

says more about you that you would disagree with an objective truth.

No reply? Look at the fallout on people that kept reading after book 2 and how the ratings plummit.

The whole series is good. The first book is the best

First is the best, and I've literally never seen our heard anyone say otherwise, until Phil. Though I'd back away from any of this being "objective".

I think Messiah is the worst, by a fricking mile. God Emperor's is maybe a chore, but it's incredibly interesting throughout.

I straight up do not understand why many dislike Heretics and Chapterhouse.

Dune's goodreads ratings are an outlier, in terms of the arcs of series. Typically, the ratings go up as the serious goes on, regardless of quality. The fans stick with the series, while the people who didn't like the first entry drop off.

I am not a fan of E.3. They are using the mind control voice a bit much. Seems like lazy writing. Also, odd to have the Harkonens the victims. They seemed like stone cold villains in the movies. I guess two royal houses just switch roles.

This show continues to decline. A flashback episode in a 6 part series that didn’t advance the story one bit.
This is not a Dune story, there’s no story at all really. This is just a girl power ripoff of shows like GOT with the Dune name slapped on it to sucker viewers. I was naive but should’ve known when I saw creatives from Westworld S4 and Empire running this thing or when they switched the name from Dune Sisterhood to Dune Prophecy. It was always gonna be a bait and switch deal but I fell for it anyway.

You thought Dune Sisterhood sounded less like a girlpower ripoff of GoT?
