None of those would have even been needed if Gandalf just has the eagles fly the ring to Mount Doom and drop it in the lava!
No reason to think Sauron and the Nazgul wouldn't have given that a pretty big fight. And they had projectile weapons.
I guess they could have skipped the long arse walk across the continent though if the eagles could have been persuaded to give a frick.

Everything that happened after they reversed the snap was yet another round of cgi gobbledygook that ended up taking away from what had been an excellent comic movie in Infinity War and a fun one in Endgame.

Watched it for the first time in a while and there's a point at the end where they are trying to get the Ant-Man's van in the middle of the battle because Hulk said they have to bring the stones back in time to the point that they were originally taken... something Cap later does at the end of the movie.
Why the frick though, in the middle of the battle for the whole fricking universe, do they decide now is the time to bring the stones back? They literally could do it at any point in time, whether it was at that moment or five years later.
Just makes no sense at all.
They are doing that to get it away from Thanos, not specifically to bring them back. It accomplishes both, but they were only goingnto be safe as far away from Thanos as possible, because they weren't sure if they could win that battle, it was better to just get them out of there ASAP.
And besides Tony's gambit, they almost lost, so it was the right call.
Having said that, the van is a massive plot device, but what can you do.

The entire plot in Endgame was dumb

How about when Hulk struggles mightily just putting on the gauntlet and snapping his fingers, but Tony just gets a quick jolt before snapping. That made me lol.
Pretty sure the suit stopped a large portion of it.

Weren't trying to get the stones away from the scene so Thanos couldn't get them again? I haven't watched it in a few months so I could be/probably am wrong.

So ridiculous that Tony even could make a gauntlet that can harness the power of the stones.

why didn't captain marvel just fly through thanos?

BUT being that the only thing in the universe what could hold the power of all the stones was a device made by a giant dwarf with the heat of a dying star kinda makes it a little bit more unbelievable.

Nope.
They were actively not doing that. Hawkeye has the gauntlet and asks Cap what do you want me to do with these and Cap says get them as far away as possible, but then Hulk says no, we got to return them back to where they came from, which starts the whole dumb "find the Ant-Man van" sequence which ends with Thanos blowing it up.
Sooo...basically we wrap back around to they were trying to get them away from Thanos.

As opposed to the time travel he discovered? Or that he made a new element in IM2?
Did you complain that Captain America: TFA had unrealistic technology during WW2?

The difference is that those don’t retcon what was previously established on the world.

Man it was tough so to watch
Thanos destroyed the van too so their plan didn't even work lol

The whole sequence was filled with fan servicy nonsense that was constantly pulling me out of the movie. Cap being able to use the hammer was the worst example.

It was just a sloppy mess at the end. Plus i hate time travel plots in general. It was an ok movie but not my favorite.

Dumb question: Can you use your snap with the Gauntlet to not die from doing a snap with the Gauntlet?
Posted on 6/8/20 at 10:05 pm to saintsfan22
I would have to think yes
