Because Walt was a great character and the main character of the whole show.

Son of a bitch. I knew I shouldn't read this kind of thread. I'm in the middle of the series.

ETA: Dr. Greene on ER. Cannot listen to Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's version without thinking about it.

I didn't even watch a lot of ER and I'll always remember that episode. Wasn't even emotionally invested in that character cause I didn't watch the show much. And it still made me sad.

And yes...that song still makes me think of that episode.

Chewbacca from the Star Wars EU. Not that they way he died was all that great. In fact I was kind of disappointed that his death wasn't more of a "Blaze of Glory" death. But he was a character I have known since my youth, and I was bothered more than I thought I would be when he died.

Of course Disney has wiped out the EU, so I guess it was all pointless.

Braveheart. Left the theater feeling pretty down about it.
Gannicus. Spartacus everyone knows he dies, but Gannicus was so likeable and he came back after being freed.

And he was responsible for the whole mess and had cancer and was going to die soon anyway. And he got to go out with some dignity. He couldn't have expected any better ending. Mike and Hank, on the other hand, got facked.
