Like I said I’d hope you’re not this obviously biased, but point being is you’ve presented yourself as someone who just regurgitates the same talking point again and again. “Disney is woke and woke is evil”. Nothing really critical just buzzwords.
Obviously I’m not expecting some highly fact checked level of analysis with numerous peer reviewed resources but I’d hope it amount to more than “movie is woke” because you’re obviously smart enough to get a masters and be a professor

To the topic of the OP. Snow White just broke a record! It’s now the most disliked Disney trailer on their main channel in history. Also when I made this thread yesterday morning it was at 50,000 likes. It’s made huge gains up to 68,000. Which is likely just dawgfan running a bot farm

Disney IS woke and Disney IS evil for the moment. There’s been a ton of critical discussion in this thread but you like all progressives just see what you want to see even if it’s a fantasy

Snow White was led to the house because she needed a place to stay. But the reason she cleaned the house was because she thought orphaned children lived there, and felt bad they didn't have a mother. So she would clean the house and surprise them.
To take this out and have the dwarfs clean their own house, with Snow White not even helping is a tragedy. It deprives her of the gentleness and caring aspect of her character??

Snow White is a woman in 2024. Why the hell would she do something nice for a group of friendly strangers who took her in and certainly saved her from certain death. Shes a woman so obviously they owed her that for past patriarchal oppression

Theyre only the largest entertainment company in the world because they use the work of great men and women who came before the current regime as a cudgel and somehow prove disney has talent left anywhere in the company. Since Iger committed a coup against his fall guy Chapek when the stock was at an all time high of like 225$ its done nothing but nose dive and now we are at the point a hostile takeover is reasonably on the cards. Sounds like a company great at making cash.

Bruh, I don't know how to tell you this, but Disney already did live action remakes of this movie before. It has Kristen Stewart after she came off Twilight. It has some of the worst acting I have ever seen in my life.
Like this chick isn't near Gal's level, but man Kristen Stewart doing that same corpse face made me think the mirror was on some serious crack.
This movie will be bad but not on the same level as that one. Granted ol' girl is white so we did not get 13 pages about how much of an abortion that movie was.

and Disney fricked ip when they started trying to change things. Thats not the point of nostalgia.

They’d make more money in the long term in fan good will by giving it the bat girl treatment
Also they’ve been changing the story in these for a while. It was small at first then went into overdrive with Peter Pan and now it seems they’re going full mask off

Why is her tweeting dumb shite because she's dumb going to impact the actual movie itself?
There is a clear reason why certain movies get shite on and are all over social media and others aren't. It's why I hate cheap buzzwords. Midget Death Squad posted on the Thunderbolts trailer thread how the main character was a DEI actress no one cares about. The problem? Winter Soldier seems to be framed as the main character. He saw minority characters and immediately jumped to conclusions.
People now associate any minority in a movie as being woke. They don't care about the content of the movie. I mean for crying out loud, one dude in here was acting like this movie will somehow erase the original. Like it's not that serious. Disney has been doing live action remakes of all their classics. Hell we're even to the post where they are doing live action remakes of modern Disney movies.
This movie will bomb. Disney won't go broke because of it. Shoving white males in more leading roles isn't some magic cure all. That last one hasn't been directly stated in this thread, but come on, we've all seen when a movie comes out with a straight white male lead people act like Hollywood just did something revolutionary.
