It could have been so much better than it was. It was also incredibly over priced.

But their insistence on marrying Galaxy's Edge and the Starcruiser to the sequel trilogy timeline is going to continue to hold them back.

It’s the same with Galaxy’s Edge in Disney Land. It’s almost entirely new stuff save for a few items & a full scale Millennium Falcon .

The reason? Licensing. They don’t want to give Lucas any cut of the profits. Or as little as possible. That’s been KK’s guide stone since Disney bought the IP.

They shot for the stars and missed (pun intended). Had the hotel just been Star Wars-themed they still could have charged an arm and a leg solely based on its location. Covid sure didn't help but everyone saw this coming from the beginning.

Disney cultists react in a Twitter thread LINK-Twitter

quote:

DeSantis in his spiteful feud with Disney over #DontSayGay is costing Florida money. Probably not the end of this either. What an idiot.

quote:

Floridian voters need to start to make better choices asap. Also California will happily take Disney’s money.

Disney could pull out. It would be costly but Disney has other properties around the World. And plenty of States in US that would love to have the Jobs and Taxes that Disney brings in.

I've seen multiple Ukraine flags saying the hotel closure is a Disney victory over Florida.

Disney has absolutely no idea what to do with Star Wars. It's so pathetic.

I'm almost to the point where I wish Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau hadn't given them the Mandalorian so they would have sold off the rights by now.

It was an an insane amount of money for just an experience I don’t think most people want.

Are they shuttering the doors or converting it into a hotel but not an immersive experience.

Yeah but not in the way Disney wants.

These people have no clue how taxes work.

They know exactly what they’re doing. We’re just too white & bigoted to appreciate it!

What, you didn't like the brilliant idea of a rock hyperspace navigator?

quote:

“Star Wars” author Claudia Gray said that Geode actually came from her boyfriend’s idea.

I’m giving credit where it is due, that was actually my boyfriend’s idea. I had Leox. And he needed a navigator. And I knew that the navigator needed to be of few words, because Leox was good with words and spoke very eloquently, and sometimes extensively on his own behalf. And I didn’t want something competing with that.

But at the same time, you don’t want to just do Chewbacca again. So I was like, ‘What can I do? What can I do?’ And Paul goes, ‘What if it’s a rock?’ Yes! A rock. I mean, he’s not a rock. He’s a Vintian. But it’s very difficult to tell Vintains apart from rocks, unless you’re a Vintian. Or a rock.

Too expensive. Too immersive. I have rich, mega-Star-Wars/Disney-fan friends who refused to pay that much to be trapped in a cruise on land experience.

Exactly. I know people who would have done this but for the ridiculous price tag and the fact that you are COMMITTED to doing only Star Wars stuff for your entire stay at the hotel. You can’t go to other parks, you can’t plan out places to eat at other resorts. They kidnap you for 3-4 days and charge you $6000
