What the hell happened to that show?
I think the NFL shut that down. A few of the storylines prob hit a little too close to home.

Only problem I have with it is taht Willie Beamon has like 2 good games and is all of a sudden doing METrx commercials and is a star of the town. Don't you think they would've waited until he at least played a whole season?
Jeremy Lin says hi.

No shite. That was one of the more realistic parts about it.
My least favorite thing about the movie (aside from the numerous black penises) is that the team is the Sharks.

This may be the laziest film critique i have ever seen on this board.
Whats lazy about it? I said the movie was overly cliched, and pointed out some of the token cliches.
Is that not in depth enough for you?

You just gave out plot points of the movie.
You can do that to any movie, it doesnt really mean anything.

His critique calling your critique lazy was in fact lazy and bullshite. Talk about the irony.

The Knights had a pretty fricking sweet uniform/helmet/field.

I love everything football. I truly do. But this movie didn't do it for me. The cast had incredible potential to deliver greatness, but the storyline by Oliver Stone did not hit the mark. As he does in all of his movies, he takes too many liberties that make the movie less credible and he scatters the story all over the place.
Al Pacino is one of my all time favorite actors. That said, somewhere in his career, after Scent of a Woman, his acting style seems to have changed. IMO I don't like any of his work from Scent of a Woman to present day with the exception of Heat. He was not a believable head professional football coach. The speech is okay but way overblown.
The uniforms and field in the movie were terrible. The movie comes off as half arse.
My definition of a good movie is this:
When I am flipping the channels and I see a movie that I am fond of, do I like it enough to hit the brakes and watch it again (regardless of how many times I have seen it before) or is the normal crap that is on TV better. In the case of Any Given Sunday, I continue to surf the channels. I never stop to watch it. Therefore, I don't much care for the movie.

Seriously now, a dude has his eye pop out and they just keep playing like no big thing.
Almost forgot about that shite was ridiculous. I wished Playmakers would of continued but as someone posted earlier. I think the NFL shut that down. Favorite football show of all time was the old HBO series 1st and Ten. Ernie Dinardo will always be my favorite fictional head coach. Had me rolling when he escaped the hospital to coach the last quarter of a game. He is like the football version of Lou Brown from Major League.

damn right it was they could bring that show back today and have Ari Gold as a sports agent and it would be money. Ari as a sports agent I can see it now.
