well, lily and forest are also infinite simulations. they just have their "data" more up to date. i think the show def should have shown some more glimpses of the "bad" realities possible at the end, to drive home the multiverse stuff.
Right, but more up to date data means they remember everything that happened prior, and that they are in a simulation to being with, and that his wife and daughter aren't his wife and daughter and Lily knows Jamie isn't Jamie
That's where it differs from San Junipero where the two lovers went together and knew where they were, happily ever infinitely.
Forest and Lily have the burden of knowing everything and everyone is fake, rather than themselves, and their actual significant others are mere copies, with their memory not as up to date, essentially making them NPCs
It's not a "good ending" like it seems to be on the surface IMO

The interesting thing to consider is if you are at that point you have to question whether your "real" life wasn't a simulation. If that is the case then is it really so bad?

forest and lily have the burden of knowing they had died and are now simulations. (could have always been unaware simulations, but that discussion could go on forever with no definitive conclusion, by design.)
i agree, its not 1:1 w/ san junipero, but i dont think its all that negative an ending. the Forest we see at the end gets what he wanted, though he had already been confronted with the fact it was through a different means than he intended.
for lily, in that simulation, she gets a another chance to repair her relationship with Jamie and move on, or do whatever, better than being dead imo. but with her, thats gonna be far more subjective i suppose.

He seemed pretty happy with the outcome. He even invited Lilly for coffee and to keep in touch.

Just finished this over the weekend, awesome show. The production value is top notch. That song to open and end episode 2 is catchy. The overall score of this show helped take it to another level.

I’ve put this show off for years for one reason or another. Finally watched it, and I really really enjoyed it. would recommend it to anyone who hasn’t seen it yet.
Yeah the composers were top. Geoff Barrow from Portishead being one of them. He’s scored the other Garland projects as well I believe. Also, nice catch on that song in episode two. Congregation by Low. I’m a huge fan of Low, and that’s the first time I can remember hearing one of their songs in film/tv off the top of my head. I’m sure they’ve had songs placed in others, but I can’t remember where.
