The Deadwood movie is expected to start shooting this fall. That’s straight from HBO’s programming president Casey Bloys, who answered a question about the long-long-long awaited follow-up and conclusion to the network’s prematurely canceled 2004 Western series. “I can finally-finally confirm we are greenlit on Deadwood movie … it will shoot in October,” Bloys said.

Anyone not excited by this sucks cock by choice.

Deadwood, more like FULLWOOD. AMIRIGHT

I hope this makes money, as I am a fan of Westerns, but HBO's Last show-turned movie, Entourage, pretty much bombed at the box office... And that show had a seemingly much larger appeal than Deadwood.
Unless the budget is like $20 million for the movie, I don't know it turns a very big profit. I'll still watch, and hope it does well, but it might be a little too niche.

It didn’t help that entourage had fallen out of favor by the end of its run and early reviews of the movie were pretty bad.

Happy but bummed about Powers Booth not being in it

I'm not sure that it will get released in theaters.

entourage was on life support by the time it ended. deadwood actually left people wanting more.

An interesting bit of trivia about him, from wiki:

His body was buried in Deadwood Cemetery, in Deadwood, Texas

They also waited way too long to get the movie out. By the time Entourage came out in the theaters; care to see the continuation of those characters had long since past. Also, even the TV show really doesn't age well. It's a show for the "in the moment" pop culture that fades so fast.

I'd use tonight to get myself organized. Ride out in the morning clear-headed. And startin' tomorrow morning, I will offer a personal $50 bounty for every decapitated head of as many of these godless heathen cocksuckers as anyone can bring in. Tomorrow. With no upper limit! That's all I say on that subject, 'cept next round's on the house. And God rest the souls of that poor family. And pussy's half price, next 15 minutes.

Can they add Walton Goggins to the cast? Cuz that would be awesome

Yeah but how many people watched deadwood vs. how many watched entourage (even in the waning years). I liked deadwood, but this won’t do well in theaters, if that’s where it’s even headed.
