I’ve listened to everything that he’s ever made and I’m not even sure what you’re talking about. He had a shite ton of racial stuff which was some of his funniest stuff.

Chappell has reached his old, bitter comic stage.

Anyway. Anybody know what Dave’s beef with Maher is?

At the Riyadh Comedy Festival in Saudi Arabia, Dave joked that “it’s easier to talk here than it is in America,” implying he faced fewer limits on controversial material there than in the U.S. Maher quipping that if Chappelle believed Saudi Arabia had more free speech, he should try doing a bit about Muhammad there.

Ahh. I think I actually remember Maher talking about that. I catch the pod version of real time here and there

Thats still super petty to shite on a guy during a Netflix special over lol

The reason this probably pissed Chappelle off is because he is Muslim.

Yeah this is my thing. It’s the holidays. I want to watch a comedy special and actually laugh a bunch. Just seems more interested in bitter storytelling than making the audience laugh at this point.

That’s fine. But I’m not going to then pretend that I loved it as a comedy show.

Im surprised he went after Charlie Kirk. We will see how it works out for him.

I have not watched the special but leaks are out about his comments on Kirk.

I wouldn’t characterize it that way. He talks about him and how people compare him to MLK (which I’ve never seen). He also said that Kirk’s murder had him scared to death since he’s one of the biggest enemies of the trans.

This is the perfect encapsulation showing you don't have a clue what you're talking about.

Eddie's racial jokes were milquetoast at best. His jokes carried none of the weight of the others. He was a guffawing turd

They were no where in the same vein as those others. He was a go along, get along, step n fetch it bitch.

I was there. I saw it in real time.

But he’s just too preachy and unfunny for me personally anymore

he went from largely a-political and famously "i don't vote" to becoming overly political and it bled into his standup routines,. It's become stale. He's still funny but his specials have become less comedy and more messaging

I watched this tonight. Have always been a huge fan, but this one came off as much more polarizing, rambling, preachy, and boastful. Didn't like it at all. Nothing really funny about it.

I said most of his material was racial. Which is was. How do I not now what I am talking about?

I never said they were hateful. Ive watched all of it. Black comics are just like women comics.

Black comics - Mostly racial material. Black white. bla bla bal

Women comis - mostly about sex, pussy, dicks. bla bla bla.

No its not everyone of them but its their main material focus and if you took that away from them, they would struggle to come up with enough material to put on a show

Now carry on

What? He's one of the funniest comedians of all time. Just because he wasn't overtly political doesn't mean he was a suck up. This is the same logic that says black people must be liberal democratic supporters. It is just demeaning. Everyone can have their own opinion and bring that to work or not. Entertainers do better when they don't bring it to work. The people who go to to stand up to have their political beliefs reinforced like the smell of their own farts.

If he says anything about Charlie then Trump needs to get involved and shut this down.

Started it last night but didn't quite finish it before I fell asleep. He started the Jack Johnson story.

I love Dave. I watch a ton of standup and he's one of my all time favorites, but this one has fallen a little flat. I laughed numerous times but just not nearly as much as usual. Just a little too political maybe. Just felt off, like half the time he wasn't even trying to tell a joke but make a political point instead.

Having watched it yet. His last few have kinda been chores to watch. The Chappelle show was much better than his stand up. The fact that he's wearing a Colin Kaepernick shirt makes me not want to watch it.
