I understand that the Netflix Defenders characters will appear in the Avengers moves - Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist.

But not until the second Avengers Infinity War movie. Scheduled for May 2019.

So enjoy them on Netflix while you have them. You only have… four years to keep them to yourself.

Maybe they'll just make cameo so Thanos can kill them.

I've read rumors that they would be basically replacing the Avengers after Infinity War

I'm getting really excited for Iron Fist. Seeing how well done Daredevil was (still have two episodes left) and having read some of Matt Fraction's work on Iron Fist, I can see it being really awesome. I know a little more about IF than I did DD going in.

We need a new 'fancasting' thread soon so I can throw out some ideas for Misty Knight.

It's likely that those four will be "promoted" to Avengers. Which is a bit of a shame, as most of that group works better as street level heroes, generally unconcerned with intergalactic wars (I think you can make an exception for Luke Cage, who in the last decade has grounded the Avengers - his activism makes the Avengers pay attention to real people, which I like). Really, I'm hoping the Defenders crew is in Civil War, because Jessica Jones and Luke Cage have one of the best subplots.

Infinity Wars will likely be an "all hands on deck" sort of movie, which will make it too crowded for anything meaningful to happen... but Civil War? Luke Cage could be the breakout star of that film.

I'm looking forward to Jessica Jones. Hopefully it's the Alias story.

while I agree that promoting isn't great, DD is the only poor fit in The Avengers, the rest have the power set to make it work...but also, it would be fitting if The Defenders becomes a rotating group of individuals, just like the comics.

You can find copies of Alias, but they aren't cheap.

While I wouldn't really want to see them plugged into the Avengers in globo, I wouldn't mind seeing Luke Cage. In the comics at least I think a guy with super strength and a degree of invulnerability but not ultra high end like Hulk or Thor makes for diverse story lines. I'd think the same could work in movies after the first few films featured the big three.

Actually what I would really like to see is something like Cap, Hawkeye, Vision, either Quicksiver and the Scarlet Witch or Ant Man and Wasp and Cage (and maybe someone like Ms. Marvel if it wouldn't overcrowd things). Perhaps they could be called on to take a different approach than brute strength after the big guns are captured or trapped or otherwise taken out of commission.

To each his own of course. Taste is individual so I ain't hating on you for liking him. But Moon Knight is one of my least favorite heroes (or maybe a better way to put it is he's one of the heroes I find most blah).

This. Moon Knight is so underrated, it's not even funny. He's one of the top 2 heroes I want to see now that we have Vision, Captain Marvel and Panther:

1a. Moon Knight
1b. Wonder Man

He's a unique hero, so I'm not surprised. But the split personalities, the way he works in teams like Secret Avengers, his bromances with DD and Spider-Man, etc. He's just a fun character to read.

He's crazy, but that's kind of the point. There are few heroes like him at all, regardless of the Batman comparisons.
