My wife and I saw this at an early showing, and it's one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Some people might not like the arc of it, but the cinematography & dialogue are top notch.

I love movies about singular practices. The act of selecting a pope is so particular its religion and all the shots of vestments, chains, beanies, and rings is stunning.

Ralph Fiennes is a master of making you believe that he's in that life and his torments are your torments.

I read the book and found the whole conclave process, which Harris covers in great detail, to be fascinating. I didn't care for the ending and in fact was really angry when I finished the book.

Well that’s 2 hours that I wish I had back.

Phenomenal premise to make a movie on. Solid first half, ruined by a completely nonsensical 2nd half.

They went like 3 bridges too far with the plot twists.

Movie was too on the nose and really tried to shoehorn a bit much. Did enjoy the mystery and “who done it” aspect of the film. Last 10 minutes are so were comical. I laughed at the ending in the theater because it was so over the top

Intersex.

I think the idea is that every option presented to the lead has its issues and he’s is already having a crisis of faith. Balancing his loyalty to the church with his own conscious as he unravels the deceit and secrets.

I do think the intersex pope at the end is jumping the shark.

i was kind interested because it’s a great cast, but the ending seems way too over the top

Also, a bomb busting out all of the windows the exact moment Fiennes votes for himself for the first time made me roll my eyes.

This was a great watch. As stated above, an interesting look into the process (I thought they still burned wet or dry straw to signal their decision) and some amazing performances.

The scandals and mysteries were a bit broad and heavy-handed, but it was entertaining as hell. I do admit that the ending fell with a dull thud (for me anyway).

It's a shame if people spoil the ending for political reasons. This film deserves an audience, controversial ending and all.

And on the performances... Fiennes, Tucci, and Lithgow of course deliver as usual, but I'm continuously impressed by how Isabella Rossellini has matured into an amazing character actress. She doesn't give a shite about her image and takes these roles like nuns and plain, normal old women and adds a ton of gravitas to these films.

The ending was a bit much as stated already, but the process to get there was very well done. Great acting throughout and an interesting look into the process. Not being Catholic, I know absolutely nothing about the church and the politics behind it.

It was a little slow but well acted. The ending was shocking to be shocking and I hated it. Ruined the whole movie. Why does Hollywood have to ruin everything with that lgbt shite.

Bought this the past week. Phenomenal movie. Ending was wild, but man, they did a great job.

It got off to a slow start, but I thought it was pretty good... great cast!

The whole conclave process is interesting...

Watched this last night. Loved it until the ending. The climax broke the immersion because it was so unbelievable in comparison to the rest of the movie, which seemed dead on to reality.
