I really enjoyed it. I liked how they all had some type of moral. I think a lot of y'all were expecting it to be a "slap you in the face with laughs" kind of movie and it just isn't. It's more amusing than anything. I will say the scene with the bank robber where the banker kept yelling "pan shot!" had be rolling. Stephen Root is so underrated as a character actor.

They kinda did.

Yep. Everyone has a different philosophy and outlook on life. And we all end up in the same place.

The Coens had a nice nod to Calvary, which wrestles with some of the same issues. The trapper was with a woman from the Hunkpapa Sioux. The only other time I've heard of them is when Brendan Gleeson's daughter in Calvary mentions them.

Overall I definitely liked it, and will go back and watch it a few more times.

Watched it last night.

The third one(Liam Neeson and the Limb-less dude) and fifth one(Oregon trail) were depressing.

Were the bounty hunters in the final one the grim reapers?

Is incredible. I'll watch anything he does. He has an incredible ability to dominate any scene he walks into. Intangible quality of screen presence .

I actually agree with Rex. At the very least, they should have done something at the end that tied all the stories together like at the end of a Seinfeld episode where each character’s seperate storyline finds a way to somehow intersect.

That really was the point of the last story. It's ultimately a film about death from a variety of perspectives.

The last story is similar in a lot of ways to the ending of Monty Python's Meaning of Life where the Grim Reaper shows up to collect the guests at a party who are dead and don't know it. (It was the salmon mousse!) I suspect the Coens made the head "bounty hunter" British for that reason. French existentialists were also a favorite character for the Pythons. In the coach you have an existentialist, religious fundamentalist, and someone who thinks humans are no more than animals. And they are all dead and headed to the same place.

Agree. Did I miss something? Rex is typically horrible but his review was my my thoughts as well. Great cinematography and some cool moments but a lot of squirrelly things.

So wrong...this is beautifully done. Really enjoy the movie as whole and none were all that predictable. Compared to how bad some shite has been recently..this was refreshingly good and well worth the watch.
