Looking for a new sitcom show to watch with the wife on streaming. We enjoyed Parks and Rec and the Office despite not having watched those shows when they were actually airing on tv.
Tried the first few episodes of Community. Not feeling it. Both the Office and Parks and Rec were iffy for the first season but just good enough to keep up with until they got good.
So far, I'd say that Community is just not very good, but if there is a major improvement as it goes on, I may consider sticking it out.
Thoughts from the Movie/TV Board?

Dude, there’s a 19 pg thread on Community. Of course it’s worth it. It starts a little slow but quickly finds its footing. Seasons 2 and 3 are some of the best tv you’ll ever see. The last 3 seasons aren’t nearly as good, but have lots of great episodes throughout.

I'm starting to think we're going to get threads on Mash...worth it?

Cheers? Should I take the plunge?

To quote Norm MacDonald...

"Dude, where have you been? Mars or something?"

I mean Psyche, The Office, Monk, Community, The Wire, Sopranos threads about being worth it????

What have people been watching all this time before quarantine? Survivor? Paradise Hotel? Temptation Island? 2 Broke Girls?

The most creative sitcom next to Arrested Development.

And it might be more creative than that titan.

So yes.

The only other show that comes close is Scrubs.

So far I got a rational, respectful reply and a complete pussy douche response.

Honestly don't care that much. Just curious.
I can find another background show.

Just need a buffer til she falls asleep and I can watch the new season of Last Kingdom.

Does it get even alright? Cuz so far it is shite.
Just trying to give it a shot based on experience with past shows and the fact that other people like it.

And MASH aint that good. Cheers is top 5 of all time.

Some people have sex and do things. TV shows are not particularly important to their lives.

So I've figured out that Community is not worth watching based on the pussies that like it. Thanks, have a nice day

I think all shows get better as the figure out what works and get a little more creative freedom.

Community is great

Nothing against you (and Community isn't an all-timer like Sopranos) and I saw that you were asking if you should stick with it...so that was my fault...

...but there have been threads about all-time classic shows that were staples for the last decade asking if they should watch them.

Office, Parks and Rec, 30 Rock, Community, Scrubs, Pysche, Monk, etc. are all pretty popular on this board

Do you always ask for your hand to be held when watching a TV show?

It seems to find a groove in seasons 3 and 4.

Sorry- I found out a while back that if you ask this sort of question here, the film school virgins will get really condescending and are total dickbags.

Well thats your problem. This show, like arrested development, is one you have to pay attention and WATCH due to the layers and callbacks that are rampant. It's not house hunters to have on in the background just to produce noise.

Quit watching. You don't deserve Community.
