Does Silver and Kreese still own the Cobra Kai name? Could be interesting.
You would have to think yes. By bringing in Kreese at the end of Season 1, there are a shite ton of story lines the writers could go with now. How Kreese and Johnny mesh is going to be the real drama since the last time we say them together, Kreese was choking him out in a parking lot. I could for sure see a Daniel/Johnny bromance taking off.

My wife and I argued about Miguel exploiting the injury of his opponent in the finals. I told her if you’re going to fight with an injury, then you need prepare for the injury to be attacked. This isn’t the fricking Boy Scouts. I applaud Miguel for exploiting it. This is about winning and that’s what Cobra Kai does.

Season 2 possibility, Kreese might have some legal hold of the name cobra kai and demand Johnny pay him to use the name/join forces or else give it up. Diaz sticks with kreese and Johnny/danielsan team up with Robbie/daughter. Who knows it’s gonna kick arse regardless

Binged the entire season last night. I felt like a 10 year old kid again. So many hilarious lines. “Who’s the man!? “I’m the man!” “Wait are you the man too??” The scene at Mr. Miyagi’s grave was really nice too. What a perfectly produced show.

I’ll agree with everything you said but I will add 2 things. I believe he will still try to be a mentor to Diaz in some way becuase he promised his mom he wouldn’t fail him. Also believe Kreese will keep pushing his buttons all season and Johnny will almost beat him to death. That’s when Silver shows up and stops him.

This show was solid. Just got done binging it.
Totally Team Diaz. Robby had it coming.
What I love about the show is how Daniel and Sam LaRusso dont understand how manipulative and irritating they are to outsiders. The episode with the mother returning showed alot of insight into how they, as a family, push everyone's buttons until they get their way. Worst of all, they have huge egos that seldom help them see when they are in the wrong. It's a huge character flaw that keeps the action in motion. Really good character development and arcs.
I'm going to be really pissed if they go all SJW with Sam stepping up next year. She's just not very likeable; she builds relationships out of convenience and discards ppl quickly when she's gotten what she needs. She's basically the new Ali.
One of the best aspects of the show is Johnny's relentless trashing of Millenial/SJW thinking. Its hilarious, cringeworthy, and inspiring all at the same time. He refuses to allow these kids to be victims.
This show made me fall in love with the Karate Kid all over again.

The best part about the series is that I'm not asked to believe that Ralph Macchio beats someone in a fight.

No way Kreese kept up on his trademark fees.

And I get that some of you wanted to start rooting for Robby at the end. That's what they were trying to do.
But funk that dat noise. That kid is evil.
Miguel is just a little frustrated that he didn't get to put it balls deep inside Sam. I feel his pain.

Not a fan of the direction they went with Miguel. Him acting like he did drunk was somewhat understandable. Attacking Robbie’s weakness during the fight was one thing, but pulling his arm between points was dirty. I was still pulling for him in the fight, but I hope he goes back to being the good guy.

No Mercy!! Johnny taught him the Cobra Way.
I have a much bigger problem with Robby being in the finals than I do with Miguel pulling his arm.

Really? No blame on Daniel for not telling Robby, "You just dislocated your shoulder. You're not fighting." No such thing as bad student, only bad teacher. Daniel should have told him not to fight.
Of course, that makes for bad TV.
Robby lied to everyone throughout the whole show and was fighting just to stick it to his deadbeat dad. He used Daniel to do it. I have no sympathy for him at all.

I was really expecting Johnny to throw in the towel on Miguel's/cobra Kai's behalf because he wouldn't want to win that way after having learned his lesson.
Then Miguel would have been pissed and Robbie and Daniel would have been pissed. Everybody woulda been pissed but he was trying to do what he thought was right. A no-win situation.
Not saying that would have been better but that's really what I was expecting for that last fight.

He is not yet at that point on his path of redemption. Johnny is getting there, but to do that at the end of season 1 would be too much to fast on the redemption scale. I really liked the way he was two steps forward and one step back.
He really needs to be the hero/anti-hero for another season.

I think when all is said and done, Miguel will be a "good guy" and end up getting the girl. I think Robbie will eventually redeem himself too, and probably end up with "a" girl...my early prediction is "Lip" defects from Johnny, and Robbie ends up with his girl after saving her from some undetermined irresponsible act by him (Lip)...

Watched all 10 yesterday...gleefully! I can't remember the last time a show so perfectly succeeded in meetings its goals. It is the EXACT right mix of:
Nostalgia/callbacks for the originals
Silly humor
Drama
Feels
Music
Favorite scene: at the bar with Johnny and Daniel
Favorite line:
"What's Guns n Roses?"..."I'm gonna pretend you didn't say that."
And most impressively - as mentioned in this thread - the show did an excellent job of being more "Game of Thrones" than "Lord of the Rings". That is to say, rather than idealized/Platonic versions of black and white good vs evil, basically every single character is multi-faceted and flawed. This includes them showing the merit in the Cobra Kai way; it can be taken too far, but it is not indefensible at all. I actually think the only carboard cutout character is the bitchy blonde friend who got front-wedgied.
Question: the Cousin Louie attack on the car seemed somewhat random. Did I miss the impetus for that?

It was a slow burn over a couple of episodes. Louie is a screwup and he desperately wants to impress Daniel. I think he misreads Daniel's aggravation with Johnny and thinks this the best way to handle it, Jersey Style.
