Zachary Levi has signed on to star in NBC’sHeroes Reborn, EW has confirmed.
A relaunch of the original superhero drama, which ran from 2006 to 2010, the 13-episode event series will feature a brand new story, though Jack Coleman is slated to reprise his role as Noah Bennett, a.k.a. HRG.
“We’re still keeping Zac’s role under wraps because everything is shrouded in mystery for this miniseries, but we’re very excited he’s been cast,” NBC boss Bob Greenblatt told reporters at the Television Critics Associations winter TV previews, noting that more castings will be announced over the next few weeks.
Added Levi: “One of my first, and fondest, memories of joining the NBC family in 2007 was having the pleasure of getting to know Tim Kring, and the cast of Heroes. I was a fan of their collective work and always thought it was such a fantastic and fun world they got to play in. With Heroes: Reborn, I’m honored to have the opportunity to bring more of that world to life, and excited to help in offering the fans of the franchise an epic new installation of a series that made such a huge impact on entertainment.”
Levi’s casting marks a return for the actor to NBC after starring on Chuck. He’s previously dipped his toe in the superhero waters after co-starring in Thor: The Dark World.
As for other original castmembers returning for the relaunch, Greenblatt said, “Jack’s the way in—and I’m not trying to be coy because we just don’t know—but I think you’ll see several of the old cast popping in to episodes.”

I'd like to see Hiro back though - he was pretty funny.

I want Mohinder monologues.
Although now that I think about it he might be dead. I can't really remember most of seasons 3/4

I still can't believe someone thought it would be a good idea to give Mohinder powers. That whole storyline was wrong IMO.

Actually season 2 was solid, not nearly as good as season 1 though. The other seasons were just absolute trash.
Not sure how I feel about Heroes: reborn. I thought this was in the works a few years ago which doesn't give me a good vibe on it to start with. I like Levi but not sure one good casting will salvage this.
All that said, I will check out a couple episodes and see.

I'm pretty much in the same boat. I wasn't even going to bother starting Reborn before Zach being cast but now I'm all in.

I know we talk about this every time Heroes is mentioned, but I can't think of another show that went from great to terrible as quickly as this one. Its a tank of epic proportions.

The first season was one of the best I have ever seen.
There was no way they could ever match the feeling of awe and discovery of that first season again.

I agree with that but season 3+ were just absolute garbage with nothing redeemable in them. Hell, one season I think ended with everyone walking away from the villain. The first season is one of the best seasons of any show I have seen ever, the second season followed up well, wasn't as good as the first but still good.

Damn. We're this far and no "Save the cheerleader. Save the world.?"

No Hayden Panettiere?

Well considering they didn't fricking save the cheerleader and still saved the world I hate that tag line.
Eta- nevermind I guess they initially did keep sylar from getting Claire's ability, although he does eventually get it anyways. Still don't like the tagline
