There's obviously films that are rated too high, but that's been the case for IMDB since the 90s - it is what it is.
They've changed a few things with ratings in the last few years that have been wonky and don't include documentaries but the Top 250 is still overall a pretty good guide for discovering stuff like foreign films (Wild Tales, Incendies, etc)

Damn, it's been so long since I've seen Memento that I completely forgot about that movie. I had no clue he did that. Going to have to rewatch that one.

On a quick double check, I can confirm that not every movie in the top 250 features a black Spider-Man, or black character.
Well-regarded superhero films do very well on IMDb. Notice that both of Nolan's not good superhero movies (one of which is maybe just bad) are on the list.

15 is “cap” as the young ones would say but it’s the most carefully made, meticulous, meta, and amazingly done cartoon I’ve ever seen.
I’d rank some Disney and Pixar over it but it was pretty amazing.
