I always knew he was considered to be an a-hole, but some of these stories are crazy

• Got into a fistfight with Bill Murray

• Said “Didn't your father used to be a successful director?" "Whatever happened to him? Boy, he sure died, you know, he sure went to hell.” to Robert Downey Jr. on SNL

• Told Terry Sweeney they should weigh him every week in SNL to see if he has AIDS

• Told a female writer in a meeting to give him a hand job

• Told Donald Glover “People think you’re funny because you’re black”

There’s a lot more too. No wonder he doesn’t get any work

Didn't Robert Downey Sr. just die last year? When did Chevy say this on SNL?

Yeah there is a lot of stuff about him being a complete and utter prick.

I’m less sure of the exact reason he was finally banned from hosting SNL. I believe he slapped Cheri Oteri.

1985 when RDJ was a cast member on the show and Chevy was brought in as host.

I also thought that was his shtick.
Like, everything he is great in, he's being an a-hole.

I was just re-watching some episodes of Community, and he is hilarious with some of his mannerisms and background movements.

To be completely fair, Bill Murray is known to also be difficult on set. For example, he fought with his supposed friend Harold Ramis on set of Ground Hog Day, and led to decades long estrangement.

I am a huge fan of both. It doesn't really bother me if an actor has a bad personality off screen, I'm never going to meet them. I'm only paying for the screen time.

he's 80 years old and rich as frick. i dont think "not getting any work" is really a big concern in his life right now.

related - he was on Fly on the Wall podcast with Carvey and Spade a couple months ago. it's pretty funny.

Look into his family history, he is from historically old money.

That explains everything.

The Murray-Chase fight was stoked by John Belushi.

It happened when Chase came back to host SNL for the first time and Murray was the replacement for Chase in the cast. Chevy was a prick who had pissed off everyone else when he left (only able to do so because he had a one year writer contract instead of a multi-year actor contract) and Murray was getting a lot of fan hatred for being a replacement scrappy for Chase.

Belushi did something to instigate Murray shortly before the episode and it set off the fight between Murray and Chase.

He must be desperate to do something. He recently made an appearance with Todd Graves at a Cane's in Illinois.
