So basically Nany's meltdown on the bike cost her the win. What a freaking idiot.

She still would've lost, her meltdown only lasted a couple of minutes.

Meltdown did not help but Nany had a 10 minute advantage going into the bike part. Laurel beat her by 18 minutes.
Meltdown was only a couple of minutes but she only lost by a couple of minutes total.
The last run Nany and Laurel basically tied. The bike was the difference. Nany should feel sick.

Another season down... Johnny, despite really getting lucky throughout the draw, was really impressive on the final challenge. If they do a Battle Of The Exes season, he needs to be on there with Avery.
I'm surprised Laurel didn't finish further ahead of Nany, but it's really all Zach's fault. She could have completed that third stage faster than Nany if she had one of the other guys as a partner.
Altitude can frick you up though if you're not ready for it. A while back I was hunting in Colorado, we were camped at 10,800 ft. and would usually hike up to 12,000 every morning. (The Villarica volcano tops out at 9,383, still really high.) There were a few times where I would really have trouble catching my breath and it felt like my body would shut down. It can be really scary.

Damn, Laurel would've smoked Nany had her third leg not been dragged down so much by Zach.
All in all though, things worked out like they should have. Bananas was the best and he won, Johnny put up a good effort but wasn't as good and came in second, and then Zach fell off and came in last.
Same with the women...Laurel beasted it up and won (despite Zach), Nany sucked but beat Devyn, and Devyn barely finished.
I'd have been pissed if any other outcome would've happened based on how they set it up. Also, it's worth noting that each time a guy was paired with Devyn, they came in last in that leg. Here's the time each guy lost off the lead when partnered with Devyn:
Zach (leg one): ~18 minutes
Bananas (leg two): ~11 minutes
Johnny (leg three): ~33 minutes
I'd have liked to have seen that final with no teams because Johnny and Bananas would've been pretty close, and Laurel runs away with it by at least half an hour.
ETA: It's also worth noting that Bananas was paired with Devyn on the only leg that had a time limit, which isn't fair. Even though they did finish their puzzle within the time, there was only a max amount of time that it could've cost them overall. That's bullshite. Either have time limit maximums on every leg, or none at all. Bananas literally didn't even have to look at the puzzle once and still could've made it out of that leg with time enough to spare and still win.

She lots by 9 minutes total, if she kept biking and never had the melt down she might have won.

I did find it humorous that Zach (I think it was) though Oaxaca, Mexico was farther north than Vancouver, Canada.

the fact that they were partnered together at all in the final is fricking outrageous. "free agents" but they work with teams basically the entire team. i get that the teams were never the same and that they were all individuals over the course of the season, but at least have the final be individual. kinda pissed about that.

Laurel obviously deserved the win, and I'm glad Zach didn't hold her back. She is now the highest earning female player ever, and I think she deserves it. That being said, she has some of the worst social skills of anyone. She is ruthless and knows all of the girls are scared of her besides Cara Maria, who just wants to be her best friend for life. But when Mosley talks to Theresa about her chickenshit move, she still manages to make herself look like the villain rather than Theresa. Fwiw, Theresa really takes these things seriously, she really was going to cry on the reunion after Laurel dared her to throw a punch.
I am shocked Devyn completed the final. Good for her, I guess.
If it wasn't for the hiking portion, Portland Johnny really might have won the whole thing. Wow, I never expected that. I figured he'd be gone in the second or third week like most rookies. Portland is going to have a presence on these shows, with at least 5 feasible mainstays. I don't think we've seen that since Key West and Austin.
However, I have to say I am impressed with Bananas for doing the 25 mile stationary ride in 61 minutes. That's very good as a regular workout, not to mention after a 10K, a hike, a huge weather change, an increase in elevation, etc. one question on the hike. They had footholds the entire way up the mountain, right?

Has Laurel ever really been challenged though? I don't think she's done a show with Emily or Evelyn or Rachel. None of the girls this season were even close to being in her league.

Emily was on Cutthroat and Ev was on Fresh Meat II and Rivals

Emily/Laurel is a perfect matchup plus Emily's way more likable so she'd have the mob on her side. Only problem is Emily's too nice to be gunning for her.

Emily is really dumb. She also doesn't have great endurance, but neither does Laurel. That's probably the biggest weakness for, both girls and why they could lose a final in the right match-up.
I'd say that's basically why Paula and Evelyn beat Laurel and Cara in Rivals I. Fwiw, Laurel did better than Emily in Cutthroat, while Laurel did better than Evelyn in Fresh Meat II although Evelyn's partner was worse than Kenny. Pretty sure she had Luke.
Going down the Paula internet rabbit hole, I just learned that she is now married, 9 months pregnant, and works as a manager at a shoe store at a mall. I'd guess we will never see her on a challenge again.
I also watched the clip where Johnny is called out for a while by Paula for having a tiny dick. Then he replies by talking about her eating disorder and her habit of picking at scabs incessantly. Damn, Paula gets the worst of it in verbal showdowns.

Also, watching the reunion there was almost no animosity besides Laurel and Theresa and Jordan& Bananas. It was a lot more peaceful than either Rivals reunion. And even Jordan/bananas is fairly mild, while Theresa's hatred of Laurel is one-sided.
Having CT not on drugs certainly takes away the chaos in the house, also he looked almost unrecognizable with the haircut and clean shave. He looked younger than he did on his Paris season a decade ago
Speculation on VEVMO is that next season will be Battle of the Exes 2, which makes sense considering it is a easy way to get all of the Explosion people on the show at once. If they aren't on the next season of the Challenge, they will all be easily forgotten,

The reunion was low-key because of what happened to Knight (he wasn't allowed on this season because of slapping Frank on the Rivals 2 reunion).
And yeah, it sucks that the next one is probably BotE2.
