Hopefully Cavill didn't leave The Witcher for this. fricked up by WB if he did

I was really looking forward to more of Cavill as Superman, but with decent writing. I hope they carve out a role for him.

We can only hope. I was super bummed about the Geralt news, but to lose him as Superman too just months later? C’mon man

I'm sure they just want to start over, and go with a trans paraplegic Muslim actor to kick off a longer term storyline.

Warner went wrong when they didn’t keep Bale as Batman and Nolan ans director and make all of the other heroes fit into that universe. MOS was great and Cavil was awesome but BVS was the worst superhero movie of all time. Everything sucked after that.

I don’t think I ever really read this board’s reaction to the Snyder Cut of JL.
I personally liked it a lot, but obviously having to cut like 45% of that movie for a theatrical release would’ve made it absurd.
Made me think Snyder might have actually had something in the long run, if only he was just a better story teller.

The theory is it had a lot to do with creative differences on how the show was being done and what the future held as well.

If I recall he actually let The Witcher because he didn't like the direction the story was taking, not solely because of his DC obligations

frick Gunn or whoever made that decision. Great job DC, you shite the bed again.

They probably wanted him to perform a scene as a gay SM sucking cock and he wouldn’t.

Maybe he can come back for the DC version of Kingdom Come, I know Gunn liked that story.

So he lost out on two roles he was great at.

Pushing Cavill out of the role is a mistake. It frees him up for the Bond role, however.
Exactly! This is shitty news but Bond producers should lock him down tomorrow as Bond. They’d be foolish not to.

Just purging all of the Snyder taint. Had to be done. If you all want an angry cry go bitch to Snyder. He fricked the DCEU beyond repair.
Gunn is likely redesigning their trashed universe and is going younger to build out a full multi year plan.

The nerds on this board would literally explode if cavill did a gay scene. His wooden acting has turned a bunch of baws gay on here. It’s really quite intriguing. The amount of man love for a mediocre actor

As someone who has always been skeptical of Snyder's talents as a director going back to Sucker Punch, the DCEU was not his fault. He and Nolan were brought in by Warner Bros. to do to Superman what Nolan did for Batman. He was supposed to be the only superhero in existence in his universe. Then The Avengers was released, made a shite ton of money, and WB decided to shotgun Man of Steel into a launch pad for a bigger extended universe. Snyder brought in an Oscar-winning screenwriter to help him do it but, unfortunately, it didn't quite work out due to studio interference. Snyder's cut of Batman v. Superman and Justice League were infinitely better than what we got in theaters.
After the disastrous reception to Batman v. Superman, the studio panicked and pulled the plug. You can blame Snyder since he was the filmmaker at the helm, but a lot of blame needs to go to the studio for turning Man of Steel into something it was never meant to be.

I sort of get it. Cavill is going to be 40 in May. If a continuation, it could be fine, but for a reboot/reworking of the character and film series, probably time to find a guy late 20s up to, maybe 33 or 34.
