I just want to point out how shitty it was for FedEx to have crab and sushi laid out when he got back.

That's something the Mrs and I noticed the very first time we saw this. How in the hell did they figure that after four years of eating raw fish and whatever else he could get from the sea that he would want seafood for his rescue party?!

and then FLY him somewhere

I kind of always figured he went back to the red head.

May mean nothing but at the beginning of the movie she’s listening to Elvis while working and he’s a big Elvis fan.

If he wanted to, he could have a pretty successful lawsuit against his employer, Fedex.

If anything, it would be Captain Phillips sailing the seas to try and find his island again

Chuck probably couldn’t handle real life again and either

He adjusted WAY too quickly mentally from talking to a Volleyball for 5 years.....never bought that instant sanity upon being saved after crying about losing Wilson just a few days earlier.... The man was certifiable, trapped in his own mind, alone....

The longest I ever was Alone was 14 days, canoeing down the Yukon River in the middle of a Territory the size of Texas, never saw another human being for two weeks...felt like I was on Mars.

It only takes a week or two of not seeing another human, let alone talking with them to screw with your mind. 5 years???? Hanks would've been incredibly deranged, still delusional and sent to a Psych ward upon landing back to Civilization.

He delivers that last package to that lady....maybe she will turn out to be his true love, and it was the package after all that really gave him the will to live. The movie is open ended on that point

He soon comes to understands its package delivery that is his one true love. He spends the next 20 yrs working a postal route during the week, moonlights for UPS on the weekends, and works from home for FedEx. His life is made complete when Amazon becomes a thing mid-career.

I wonder if she waited longer than Lori from TWD before banging someone else?

Amazon was already 5 years old when he crashed, meaning it was, what 7-8 years old when he was rescued?

The movie came out in 2000, Amazon was just starting to expand from being an online book store. Prime was ~five years away.

According to the Googles, they launched it in Feb of 2005. I thought it was more like 2010

TWD = The Walking Dead

Lori was the wife of the main guy Officer Rick Grimes. Thought he was dead. Banged his best friend and partner in the dirt while living in a makeshift camp with other survivors.
