Half way through episode 2. Solid so far. Obviously going to be an expansion of the original story. I like they break it up with flash forwards almost like True Detective season 1.
Let’s see how far they Carrie it

Good Lord no. How many times are they going to remake this? The original was perfect.

As long as this is a limited series (one season) than I think it's great, but as long as we live in an age where studios consider a multi-season TV series 8-10 episodes onces every two or three years, I find only resentment.
Well, damn. They fricked that up. If they had ended the series with the aftermath of the Black Prom, it would've been a very solid reimagining of the story. Leaving it open ended wasn't necessary and just felt hollow. Summer Howell and Samantha Sloyan as Carrie and her mother were excellent. That said, expanding the story to include Adelaide and her girls, all characters who were not in the original novel, was a terrible decision. I wasn't interested in that storyline at all, and I got bored as soon as the plot shifted away from Carrie.
SPOILERS:
Why do we care that there are other girls out there with the same abilities as Carrie? I don't think that revelation added anything to the story. Also, who was causing the chaos at the prom? Was it Carrie or Emaline? It seemed as though Emaline was channeling her power through Carrie and pushed her to do it. "Let me take the wheel" implies that she was controlling Carrie's rage and her powers. As if Carrie didn't have reason enough to do it on her own.

I'll watch it. Although no one else in my family will.
The last remake i saw was terrible.

She was great as a loonie toons cultist in Midnight Mass.

Mike Flanagan, you say?
I'd rather another season of Midnight Club.
MF burned my with FotHoU. When it was announced, I was expecting a loyal Poe adaption, not a tirade against big Pharma.

Well, there is a twist I don't think was in the movie.

Carrie is like 200-250 pages. It's been made into a movie like 4-5 times. What is there to tell new or flesh out? They can add new stuff. We know how that always works out.
this. for the love of gawd, write new stuff. reboots and sequels stink

The twist ruined it for me. They got away from what made the original so tragic and scary.
