I like it it was better than I excepted. I credit director Joe Johnston who seems to have a knack for recreating a feel good mid 20th century vibe like he's done with October Sky and The Rocketeer.
well said. I am about to work with him on a project ... he is supposedly an intense individual, but looking forward to the challenge. Same production designer from October Sky as well.

Tend to agree.

Got bored at the end. Just didnt care what happened.
Sums up how I felt. I was completely meh, halfway through, and then it got to the point I was just waiting for it to end. Honestly, I might have fallen asleep because I don't remember the exact end. Either that, or it was just that forgettable.

If you liked Iron Man and Thor, you'll like this.
Disagree. I liked Thor, and everyone likes Iron Man (everyone that likes these kind of movies anyway). Haven't seen Green Lantern yet because it looks bad, but I would imagine that Captain America was more like Green Lantern than Thor or Iron Man.

exactly! i really enjoyed it for what it was. it wasn't meant to be an oscar-winning, breakthrough in cinema movie. it's a superhero popcorn flick.
Oh look, it's that argument again.

I was entertained by the big war machines, people getting blown to smithereens by the Gods' energy, and Tommy Lee Jones' one-liners.
The war machines and the gods' energy were too of the details that just ruined the movie. Totally killed the WWII vibe that worked so well at the begining of the movie.

The old WWII stage shows and song were worth the admission price.

Again, this was meant to be a tie-in for the Avengers...The Gods' energy had to be some component of the film. Could it have been done differently? Absolutely. But Red Skull doesn't exactly scream normal WWII historical drama.

Captain America made the Green Lantern seem like a quality flick.

Easily the worst movie I saw last year.
It is not crazy to see some cheesiness in a super hero movie, but CA takes it to a whole new level.
The whole love story was just really really forced and the I don't care how good the rest of a movie is, but Nazis with blue ray guns will always be a joke.
I cannot fathom how some people said this movie was better than Iron Man.

Figured it wouldn't be great but finally watched it and was very disappointed in how bad it was. I wish they would not have gone with all the advanced technology type stuff and stuck to strictly WWII era weapons etc.
