They...split...the...gross...with...the...cinemas - roughly 50/50 - actually the better a film does overseas, the more that percentage drops.
they also pretty much split the budget with the UK so thats a moot point.

Disney is having trouble in multiple areas of their business.
and if they keep having trouble they'll just get bought by Google or Apple and continue under the Disney brand name.... they aren't going anywhere in your lifetime no matter how much you will it to be so.
it's why this whole dog and pony show is so tiresome.
you are fighting a war that cannot be won, much like the Ukraine.

quote:Yeah. This will be akin to The Marvels where they lied their asses off about production costs, leading up to it's release, but they can't cover up for long when you are a publicly traded company.
So, the same they spent on on Thor: Ragnarok in 2017? Don't be a child. We won't know the final "gross" spend for about a year. Even with the UK tax credits, the net spend will be well high of $280m and is probably in the $300m+ range.

Spiderman with tobey and garfield was the shite.
Deadpool vs wolverwine was awesome with all of its cameos.
Kind of makes a lot of sense why marvel is bringing back downey as another character, writing chris evans and scarlette as the capt hydra and ms black widow hydra variants, having multiple hulks appear in future films. They throwing a lot of shite at the wall. I m sure something will stick since they have no more story to tell.
Give the people what they want.... Tedeious cameos

Ok when disney folds ill be here to eat crow. When they are still here in 5 years will you be able to do the same or will you still be sky screaming about their impending doom?

Is that your black/white view of this topic?
Can't grasp that this movie will lose money and yet Disney will still exist in 5 years?
interesting.

All things fail eventually. Its the obsession over it on this board that i find weird.
Where are the daily threads about Paramount+ Financials?
Im just wondering why yall have to gauge Disneys temperature everyday ad nauseum. When they fail theyll fail, as everything that ever existed has.
Why not wait til then to take ur victory laps if you are even still alive.

Ahh yes, the classic 'why do you even care' response.

Its obvious why you care lol you have staked your entire reputation on it.

Falcon and Falcon as CA is not one of the reasons this movie is not top or mid tier.
The story is bad, the script and pacing are bad.
They pull a page out of Ahsoka's playbook in the way the villain shows his supposed intelligence. . .
Every time something bad happens, or his plan is falling apart, he gives the "just like I planned" variation. Just shitty lazy writing.
Just like live-action Thrawn.

This is overstated, imo.
Black Widow
Shang-Chi
No Way Home
Guardians
Deadpool
All are good movies. Wakanda Forever is good as well but we all know why this board doesn’t like it.
I think the there are two problems. One being expectation. Three of the movies that had larger expectations than a typical Marvel movie (Thor following up Ragnarok, Ant-Man introducing Kang, and Strange with the Multiverse) all failed to meet expectations. Two of those fell well short. Even Deadpool, which I think is a good movie, probably fell short of expectations a bit. And then you have The Marvels and Eternals that just never really got off the ground to begin with.
and then I think they’ve lacked that just great movie that really got people talking. I think NWH did it and Guardians and Deadpool were close, but you don’t have a Winter Soldier, the original Guardians, etc.

I enjoy seeing them lose money when they make inferior movies and TV from what was once superior content, in every way possible. Same goes for the BBC & Amazon, too. The more they shovel millions of dollars into a furnace the better.
Because these idiots are ruining pre-existing intellectual properties and the harder they feel the pain of failure the sooner they will stop with his goddamn messaging ‘for the modern audience’ and get back to proper storytelling.
* And it’s not just me who feels like that, there are a ton of people who work within the business who have shared similar sentiments. Not just fans. But people who don’t want to be constrained by arbitrary rules and adhering to politically correct guardrails.
