“Cancer Can Be Killed” documentary on Amazon Prime

Just finished it. Really great, informative doc. It really opens your mind on cancer treatment, traditional(chemo, radiation) vs alternative methods(Vit C, hypertherapy, diet) . Not a conspiracy theory film. It has valid points and people(as well as a dog) with cancer telling their experiences with alternative treatments.

Jeff Witzeman goes on a quest to find out why his wife was cured of her cancer in 30 days naturally in Germany after American doctors wanted to pull an organ out, chemo and radiate her, and basically send her off to die. What he found will change cancer treatment forever.
If that doesn't sound like a pyramid scheme sales pitch I don't know what does

Diet cannot kill cancer, don’t be a dumbass.

A friend of mine went to Germany and did the diet change, alternative treatments, etc. He was dead in 18 months (funeral was 3 weeks ago). I admire him for going all out and doing everything he could to live. He probably did extend his life a bit and didn’t have to go through the misery of chemo but after two trips to Germany and many thousands of dollars spent, it really didn’t do much for him.

Ah yes, we were due for one person's cancer mysteriously went into remission because they drank yak urine documentary.
Probably because these 15,000 people all tried alternative medicine to treat their cancer and died slow horrible deaths would be a bit of a downer for a documentary.

Could be an interesting watch, as long as its creators have no strong religious ties. Not a slam on religion itself, but it seems like every bullshite cure for cancer is spammed with testimonials by religious nuts in the product reviews, to the point where you can't take it seriously...

Hmmm. I'm not into sharing but ok.
Stage 4 colon cancer diagnosed Feb 2016. Chemo/radiation etc eventually surgery Oct 2016 remove the tumor. Temporary ostomy to heal. Everything reattached Dec 2016, doctors "It's a miracle".
Feb 2017 first PET scan since surgery another tumor is back, bigger than ever. Moving into bladder. Chemo for life, pelvic externeration, death or alternative meds. I'll never ever do chemo again in my life so that was out. I jumped on the alt med train asap, eating cannabis oil like a bag of chips. It was a great high but did nothing to shrink the tumor. I would have chosen death over the pelvic externeration but loved ones wouldn't let me.
48 at diagnosis, 6ft, 160#, never sick a day in my life except for a cold. Smoked since 18 till diagnosis. Ate red meat almost daily.
My point in sharing is maybe it will work on the one. I know the oil has worked on others with Colon cancer. But it didnt do anything to my special friend.

Immunotherapy is the thing working miracles in cancer treatment, not these alternative treatments. My mother is 6 months into treatment and the results have been amazing. Without immunotherapy, she was probably looking at chemo to extend her life maybe a year at best. With immunotherapy, she is almost cancer free. Her next PET scan is at the end of the month and her doctor is expecting the cancer to be gone. The only downside is that it doesn’t work for all cancer patients. My friend I referenced earlier was tested for the possibility of using it for his cancer treatment but it was determined it would not have worked with his.

Exactly. We are getting to a point in cancer therapy where each patient's disease can be treated in a specific manner. Some cancers are still mysteries to science, but others (and specific changes) are becoming more easily targeted. Look for adoptive cell therapies to be the next wave following the current monoclonal tide. It really is an exciting time to be in cancer research.
Also, frick everyone who thinks there a secret cure for all cancers. This idea is completely idiotic and truly exposes an ignorance to basic cancer science.

It's fricking sad to me that after all of the money donated and all of the minds that are on the job that no one on Earth can come up with a viable solution to cancer besides chemo
I mean seriously we've created all kinds of amazing shite as the human race and we can't find a cure to cancer? I get there are advanced forms and rarer types that scientists still have to discover but still....

But did it improve his self-esteem, efficacy, dignity etc?
Until we are put in that situation we can't say for sure what we find as therapeutic or not; even eradication of disease won't help with the psychological or social component.
With that said I'd always be a little skeptical of treatments that haven't undergone randomized controlled trial studies

Well to be honest I've done the alkaline diet for a short time
While I did have more energy I also never felt good satiation due to lack of protein
Obviously a balance of acidic and alkaline foods are best
However I do like alkaline water
