Please stay with me a second. Now in most movies zombies are slowly walking or maybe even capable of aggresively running. But this is why the genre doesnt really do it for me. I feel like with some sound scouting tecniques and surveillance equipment, the zombie threat can be largely avoided and peter out. But Zombies on horses would change the mfn game. They could potential scout your scouts and get the jump on avoidance techniques. Has there ever been a movie with zombies on horseback?

The closet I can think of is
I Am Legend. I dont know if those count as zombies though.

I may be mistaken, but i thought there was another movie where the zombies were adaptive. Was it land of the dead where one used a gun?

At that point, I don’t think you can call them zombies anymore.

Only two zombie scenarios I worry about are:

1) A posse of zombies on horseback

2) A group of time traveling zombies that can swoop in on vulnerable nations at wartime

And that covers my concerns.

What if zombies could drive cars? Or fly planes? Or control drones?

I am not concerned with zombies trying to control electronics because I dont think they have the cognitive capacity to do that. Now if they form some kinds wierd mindmeld or eat the brain of a horse and make zombie horses, now you got my attention and concern.

Zombies can ride zombie horses only.

I think maybe a really slow or potentially disabled horse could be tricked into being mounted by a zombie if it smelled like honeysuckle or apples.

Zombies are mindless. Just pure rage and hunger, no creativity.

They don’t win through strength or cunning but through sheer numbers, and the fact that they never rest, tire, sleep, or run out of ammunition. You also cannot wound them out of a fight, you have to kill them through destruction of the brain, not an easy shot.

Another thing to remember here is zombies usually have two types of teeth: rotted or gone. This unfortunately is a bigger problem for the undead horse when trying to consume brains.

Fine points kingbob. Now to clarify I dont think zombies are capable of inventing time travel, but if they were to wander into a fully formed time machine the implications could be devastating.

They wouldn’t know how to use it. They’d only aimlessly wander into it if they smelled living humans on the other side.

If you glue them to the saddle and stick a rod down their spine, sure.

These sound like some of the plot ideas that were thrown about before they settled on a tornado filled with sharks.

Seems like they'd try to eat them instead.

Depends on the material.

Crossed zombies probably could a horse... If they didn't try to frick it first. But they were still able to fly planes in Family Values.

Romero Zombies would eventually get there.

Rage zombies probably can't.

Running Zombies is a maybe if they aren't raged. Like Daybreak.
