Just picked up a few. Didn't realize until just now that is opens on Easter weekend.

I'm excited, despite the early marketing campaign's efforts to temper expectations.

Can't wait. Haven't been this excited for a superhero movie since Dark Knight.

Got my tickets. Reserved seating for IMAX at 6pm on March 24th. The good seats are already gone. Had to play the refresh game. Hopefully the tickets continue to sell like that.

Yeh I was surprised at how many seats were already sold. Had to go with Friday morning at 9:00 am to get good seats.

Update: After 24 hours since ticket went on sale Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice finished at 59% in an amazing second place only behind Star Wars The Force Awakens 75%. Finishing second isn’t a bad thing as Star Wars The Force Awakens is a force likely not any CBM can match. It is yet to be seen how much money is made in advance ticket sales its first 24 hour. Estimate some be coming in later this week.

For comparison sake... Avengers AOU reached 21%.

This metric is a strange way to measure sales, but it's a great sign for the movie.

Yea, ticket sales are good so far. I'm excited. Still a long way to go to get to 1 billion.

Opening weekend was always going to be huge.

The drop for the second weekend is the make or break for it being the kind of success WB wants.

If it holds at 50% like the original Avengers WB will go full bore with Snyder's DCU.

If it has a 60%+ drop though... their buttholes may start to pucker a bit.

I do hope it succeeds though b/c I want my damn Shazam movie. (though I will be fairly butthurt if they eschew the comic's typically lighter tone for what DCU seems to be going for)

No there isn't. How could anyone think this doesn't hit a billion? This could come out with 20% reviews on RT and still hit it.

I've never had an issue with calling the movie itself Shazam since the comics had that in the header for years.

But the character? frick YOU DC ITS frickING CAPTAIN MARVEL!!!!

You're gonna get a Shazam movie regardless. This movie will make enough money to justify future DC movies. I think worst case scenario at this point would be Snyder gets replaced. And that's only if they have a big drop off. I'm fine with that, as long as they keep making DC movies.

Maybe I'm being overly cautious?

Or trying to underplay it so that when it does BvS will be this amazingly triumphant film that "Beat all the odds," because it's such an underdog.

In all seriousness, I want future DC movies. I really don't care what this movie does as long as they don't scrap future projects. It's looking like that's the case, so I'm good to go.
