Also wife watching. We laugh with derision at the forced Orwellian diversity bullshite but she enjoys the plot lines enough to watch for now.

How is the diversity "Orwellian"?

Is the diversity watching you? Is the diversity an allegory for totalitarian USSR? Did the diversity fight in and subsequently write about fighting in the Spanish Civil War?

C'mon, man. This is the MTV board. Any movie or commercial that isn't pasty arse Elmer's glue whitey white is some sort of nefarious plot to wipe out whitey.

Tbh, I typically get a little annoyed with the forced stuff tossed at us but so far I’ve enjoyed this. I guess I don’t mind at all the different colors of the cast at all cuz honestly it should have been that way all along- it’s when shows start attempting to make me feel like less of a human by preaching to me that gets under my skin. I’m on episode 3 now and find the show pretty damn charming.

Because color is never mentioned. They are just actors playing roles and it doesn't matter. Nothing is in your face about it at all.

But that is the problem. You never see a white dude playing a slave during Civil War movies. You never see an Asian playing an African tribesman. It is just weird to substitute race just for the sake of being woke. If you can't deal with reality, then make a current or future movie and choose whatever race you want, but don't replace Victorian era characters with random black dudes.

But those of us who like this show just don't care that much about their race. I'm watching the story, the costumes, the sets, the horse drawn carriages. I just don't gaf if that gorgeous outfit is on a black person or a white person. It's not like this is a completely historically correct documentary. They're playing Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift music for God's sakes.

So you wouldn't mind at all if Roots was re-made with Bradley Cooper in the role of Kunta Kinte?

Nope! Bradley Cooper is hot! I’m sure lots of others would mind. But not me.

You have to look for it. It’s not them singing at all. It’s their songs done as classical music fitting the era. Besides that, I like Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift! If you’re not the one in my Wildest Dreams...well Thank you, Next!

This show is a fun show and makes me smile.

And loving the costumes. Sooo many beautiful dresses, especially what Daphne wears. How much fun would it have been to have been an extra for this show??

This is t supposed to be a serious historical piece. I hate to break it to you, most movies that deal with history aren't accurate at all. I guess you'll over look it if the cast is all caucasian.

Spoiler:

Abraham Lincoln didn't hunt Vampires either.

Just sit back and enjoy/shows and movies.
