Weren't there some meth lab fires or something talked about in the flash forward? Maybe I am not recalling correctly.
I would assume that was Jesse's doing and how either took Todd out via something like that or killed himself and Todd.

Personal preference. I simply did not like the scene.

Dovetail? Maybe he's comparing tying up all loose ends with the woodworking joint?
Dovetail

2. A joint formed by interlocking one or more such tenons and mortises.

yeah Walt still probably thinks he can fix his relationship with Jesse, I just don't see Jesse going along with it, much like Walt's actual family

Remember in the first season when Walt did something to the chemical process that caused toxic gas. He used this to kill Krazy 8 and his associate. The former survived, but the latter did not. Maybe Jesse does something like this to Turd.

yeah i don't know if he's doing this for some moral redemption or just to get revenge or what
probably revenge
he was a meek, weak person in the cabin before he went to the bar. he tried to redeem himself by sending walt jr. money. failed. then he gave himself up. he was walt, and heisengberg was dead
then he saw the news cast with not only GM talking shite about him, but also hearing that his meth was still being made...but not by him
we saw walt broken down and in about 5 minutes, we saw him break bad again. it's gotta be revenge

I think GM has to go down in some way. This show has always delivered. The Nazis won't be his last target. I don't think anyone is dying but by the time you see Vince Gilligan on the screen GM is going to be fricked...I'd wager it might be in the last scene of the show.
ding ding ding. I refuse to believe that Walt's last great idea is taking down the nazis and Todd.

He didn't give himself up. He called the DEA knowing they could get the phone number and start looking for him in New Hampshire; he can now slip into New Mexico under the radar.

The call was made to give himself up. He changed his mind once he saw the interview

the nazis didn't kill jesse like they were supposed to
the nazis are making jesse still cook, and infringing on HIS meth and tainting HIS legacy
This is how Walt views this situation, no doubt - assuming he has all the facts (i.e. Jesse is still cooking).

Where in any of that do you make the case for Walt saving Jesse?

I agree - he was going to sit there and nurse his drink until he got arrested. Seeing the interview prompted him to take his box of money and leave.

That was my initial reaction, but I'll bite. So we can add this to the lllloooonnnnggg list of bad decisions by Walter White. This ain't the first time I've been wrong about this show.
Did anybody hear the fellow tell Walt that Skyler was now going by her maiden name? I wonder what the significance is of this. Walt and Skyler are now both "Lamberts."

jesse no longer presents a threat. that threat is reality now. what can jesse do to him?
Jesse betrayed him, he's a coward in Walt's mind. The scene where he points out Jesse to the nazis shows he places blame on Jesse for how things unfolded. That's what Walt does, blames others for his misfortunes.

I think the only thing Walt knows about is the nazis killing Hank and stealing his money. That's why he wanted to hire the hitmen to kill them, they took what was his/his family's. I also think whatever he does next will be more about getting credit for the empire he built more than anything. He doesn't have his family to use as an excuse for the things he does anymore, this is all about Walt/Heisenberg.

I think he may save Jesse in the end, but this is, by no means, certain. He does blame Jesse - he did give Jesse up. Unlike the negotiations for sparing Hank (ludicrous though it seems, as pointed out by Hank), he was adamant about wanting Jesse gone.
Now - having said that, when he begins to exact his revenge, Jesse may assist after freeing himself - Walt may not be able to bring himself to do the deed, personally. Let's assume he cannot - the question, will shift to, "Will Jesse be able to kill Walt?"
Lots of speculation for just 1 episode remaining, huh?
Who is the machinegun for? Who is the ricin for? Does Walt get help?

Good point. I can see an ending where Walt views Jesse as the last hope to hold on to a part of his "family."
