I agree and feel the same about Holy Grail when the cops show up. But they're still two of my all-time favorite comedies.

Sometimes you just have to cut bait. I mean both movies kind of painted themselves into a corner. Can any of you come up with better endings?

see I disagree there - that was on par with the level of absurdness of the rest of the movie - and the fact they ran out of budget for the big castle raid, i thought it was a fun way to cut it.
