First "R" film I ever saw.
I still have fevered dreams about Governor Lepetomaine's secretary.

Is this the cut with commercials where it is actually shorter than the uncut film? CMT used to show it and cut every funny moment including the fart scene to where it was completely incoherent and you had no idea what the townspeople were angry about or what the threat was.

Geez, this movie (especially the train scenes) would never be made today.
The use of the "N" word, the Asian passing out, "Kansas City ****s," etc.
Today's PC culture sucks.

Same. I remember it well. I was 13 and had to have major surgery. I was up to my eyeballs in opiates. I also had a black nurse who was simply great. I don't know what my dad was thinking showing me Blazing Saddles there for the first time given I was high on heroin with a black nurse, but it is a fond memory.

And TigerDroppings just edited my "Kansas City . . ."
Wow.
Let's see if I can get it in this way . . .

It's the funniest film if all time... The first 15 minutes alone contains 3 or 4 of the funniest scenes ever put on film. Korman legitemetly could have won an Oscar and probably Pickens too... They just so happened to make the movie in one of the best year for films ever, 1974.
Blazing Saddles
Young Frankenstein
The Godfather part II
Chinatown
The Comversation
The Longest Yard
Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, etc, etc,...

It's ridiculous those came out in the same year. Two of the top 10 comedies of all time by the same director. Who does that?
As much as I love Blazing Saddles, I really think this is the funniest 30 minute clip in cinematic history: LINK
Marty Feldman as Igor may be the most well cast role in cinematic history. No one could have done a better job with the role.

Blazing Saddles is a great movie. It's another movie that I think every American should have to watch. It makes fun of everyone.

Alright. It should be watched by all the black and the Chinese, but not the Irish.
