I’m sad that I haven’t seen the actor in much else on TV since. He’s apparently an award winning playwright and does a fair amount of theater work.

It wasn't shoved in your face. They barely depicted it at all. It's not like there was a male gay sex scene (b/c apparently lesbians don't count) every episode such as in a show like Looking. Flint rarely talked about it and wasn't going around fricking everything that moved while dropping long speeches on equality.
You can deny it if you want but you really are saying there "no need" for a fictional character to ever be gay because..... oh noes, butt sex!!!

Rackham is my favorite character. I looked last night at his filmography and was surprised how little he has done. I think only one movie since BS ended. He's a great actor.
Read a little on the actual Charles Vane and Rackham. Pretty interesting read.
