I can't believe this is still playing in theaters

Only the third film ever to cross 700 million.

I'd love to see the stats of how many people knew who Black Panther was or gave a shite about him prior to the MCU/BLM era.

I mean that could be said about any of the MCU characters except Spider-Man and maybe The Incredible Hulk.

By Marvel’s own admission they stated that Iron Man was a lowly fledgling C-list character before taking a gamble on it.

How many people cared about the titanic before Leonardo decarprio made a movie about it?

Yeah but those characters aren't being driven by a political climate tho.

Titanic's success is because it was a good movie, it wasn't hyped due to a political climate and wanting "culcha." Nice try though.

Your posts basically says that a movie can’t be popular if people didn’t know about the character/story before it came out, which is obviously ridiculous.

Why do you care if a large group of people related to a movie and went to see it? That’s how most movies work.

my favorite part was when he stood up to the racist cops during the third act using a freestyle rap about his troubled upbringing and how hard he had it growing up without his dad and that the streets were the only family that he had. i shed a tear when he put his fists up in defiance of the white supremacist police officer who murdered him while he was on his way home from getting his GED at night school

Due to the population makeup of the world, more non-Africans have seen this. Checkmate racebaiters.

I like how the movie explains why most of the content is undeveloped because of hiding a precious technology. It’s basically acknowledging that the real Africa is very backwards compared to other parts of the world.

Wow it’s still playing at theaters quite a theater run. Movies used to stay at the theater much longer. I remember Jurassic Park playing over a year.

It’s seen as this generation’s Roots for some reason. Strange phenomenon but whatever.
