Jesus, this thread is just a minefield of turds now.
I don't know how this became a Star Wars thread, but they started off well with Rey. We first see her scavenging and showing that she's become very good at some things. This is always good, because it shows the audience that she's naturally talented and adept, and will be really good at Star Wars stuff later.
But there is no development. She becomes instantly good at everything. Toss out the feminism and politics and it's just boring. The entertainment lies in there being a struggle. That's what story conflict is all about, but in this, we're just led from one situation to another in which she easily prevails. It's boring.
